Teen football players spotted woman hitting her car — they quickly intervened and ended up saving a life

Choosing to intervene in people's business can actually be useful at times. Teen football players who saw a grandmom hitting her car decided to check on her and ended up saving a baby's life in the process. The grandmom was leaving her sister's house with her grandson after babysitting him for the entire day. She had just put him in his car seat, had thrown her keys on the front seat and was loading up her car as she hugged her sister goodbye. Soon enough, she noticed that her car door was locked, per Griffon Sports Insider's YouTube Channel.

"All four doors were locked," the grandmom, Teresa Gall, recounted. It was a hot day and the effects of the heat began showing up on her grandson, Liam Snook, in two minutes. Gall just couldn't get to her grandson, who was all red, crying and "vomiting profusely." Her sister ran inside to get help and her niece went inside to get her a hammer because they couldn't wait anymore. "I started to beat on the door and she helped me. We had to take turns because our arms hurt so bad." The baby got sicker and sicker in that duration and Gall panicked as the time went on. "He was trying to go to sleep and I was beating on this door with a hammer."
"Oh, please, God! Send somebody to help me," the grandma recounted, praying. Two teen football players, Jack Long and Shane Simpson, had just gotten off their football practice at that time and had decided to take a different route home. "We saw a woman with a hammer in her hand, tapping at the window, so we slowed down and it was awkward. She had locked her keys in the car," Long recalled. They kept driving for a second, but then they decided to go back and check in on the lady and see what had happened. "The lady came before we could even open the door. She came running and said she needed help and there was a baby stuck in the car," Simpson explained. One of them busted the window with one swoop of the hammer.
Gall quickly got her 17-month-old grandson out and took him inside her sister's house. The teenagers went their way, but decided to go back and see if everyone was alright. "They came back 30 minutes later to check on him. Because they knew about heatstroke and they were worried about the little guy," Gall expressed. She offered a monetary thank you to the duo, but they refused. They wanted them to come to their game instead. "So, of course, my family and my extended family were coming to the game," the grandmom pointed out. The players believed that any decent person would have done the same thing, while the grandmom was really thankful to them for saving her grandson's life. "I'll be eternally grateful to them."
