Booking a hair appointment comes with not just the perks of getting one's hair done, but also interacting and socializing at the salon. However, when one woman, hit with depression, wished to get her hair done, she only had one request for her hairdresser @thewekly: not to engage in any conversations. The hairdresser listened to her request and delivered what she needed, for which she remained thankful. She shared the story with her TikTok followers on December 9, 2025, and earned praise from social media users.

The hairdresser shared a story about a client who had a special request. One of her clients had texted her an hour before their appointment, sharing that she was feeling depressed. But she wanted the session to be done without any conversation. The hairdresser asked if her client wished to talk to her; however, she declined the offer and wanted to only get her hair done instead. The stylist assured that her wish could be fulfilled as she decided to accommodate her request by doing her hair in the back of the salon, away from social interaction.

"I get that you don't want to deal with the social aspects of getting your hair done, you're too sad for that, I get it. But the cool thing is you're going to come get your hair done, and it's going to make you feel a hundred times better. So come at your worst and leave out at your best, baby," the hairdresser told the client. The hairdresser shared that she didn't even wish her client when she walked in and that she understood her client did not want to engage in conversations that day, despite having talked during previous appointments. She emphasized the importance of communicating needs in advance so others can make accommodations. "If you explain yourselves, a lot of the time people will take action and do what needs [sic] to be done. But you can't come in angry, and then we deal with it from there. You've got to say stuff ahead of time," she added.

The hairdresser's video caught the attention of users who praised her for her kindness. @thealysenicolee noted, "And that's how you curate long-term relationships with clients." @Amanda advised, "You should offer silent appointments. You would be amazed at how many clients like this service when it's offered. I have one stylist who does them almost exclusively, and she is always booked. They are perfect for introverts or people who are just drained and need to recharge." @Shy commented, "I'm so proud of her for reaching out for help. She knew she needed her hair maintained, so she sought a solution instead of bed rotting. And I'm proud of you for hearing and protecting her."
