It's the 21st century and women's safety still remains a global concern. As people continue raising awareness about this issue, some female content creators are coming forward to deliver public service announcements based on their own ugly experiences. Content creator and model Olivia Ponton, (@iamoliviaponton on TikTok), uploaded a video on her page, reminding women to be safe rather than sorry. The video garnered over 2 million views so far and resonated with her audience who expressed their safety concerns as well.

Ponton started the conversation about women using delivery services and putting their real names in those delivery apps. "Never put your real name or photo of yourself on Uber, Uber Eats, Lyft, Doordash and any of it," Ponton suggested. "Let this be your sign. Matter of fact, change it to a guy's name. Jason, Jake, John or anything. And just delete the photo." Then she went ahead to share an incident that taught her a valuable lesson. At one point, she ordered meals from Uber Eats but she did not expect what followed afterwards.

"I was just shaking in my literal boots for 20 minutes. This man would not stop banging on my door for 20 minutes. I was like, 'Aren't you getting tired?' I was standing there. I didn't know what to do. I was literally frozen," Ponton recalled. She added how the suspicious man was covering the peephole on her door to prevent Ponton from looking at him. She tried to match the picture of the Uber Eats delivery driver with the man standing outside but all in vain. "We're not safe out here," Ponton warned. Many others who regularly use delivery services and use their original name and picture on the apps were stunned to hear Ponton's account.

@faye.alt mentioned, "The one time I used Uber Eats, my driver stood outside my house for 15 minutes after I already got my food. It was lowkey scary." @kaitlin_aria shared, "Me with the Uber Eats driver who wouldn’t leave my building today for almost an hour just pacing between my apartment and my other neighbors (both girls as well)." @user2734397258561 remarked, "Right it’s horrible we have to do this but good advice. Same with putting a pair of men’s shoes at your front door—can pick them up at Goodwill or whatever— just wards off people with bad intentions."

@fancyfrenchleaf advised, "Always leave at the door and don’t retrieve food until they leave. Always go a clock away and don’t let your move from pick up/drop spot until the location stops tracking." @rizzler2021 quipped, "That's one of the reasons I put a ring camera on my door. my apartment doesn't even have a peephole so without it I can't see anything." @ilovela323 added, "If you don’t want them to wait then make sure you have a contactless delivery because they don’t get paid if you don’t put that and don’t answer. I have just left it then they say they never got it."
