Ever wondered if it's possible to have too much of a good thing? One woman who ate around 300 grams of baby carrots every single day can confidently tell you that the answer is yes. She ate cottage cheese and baby carrots for lunch every single day and saw a noticeable difference in her skin color because of all the carrots she had been eating. The woman, u/AhsewkaTano, shared a before-and-after picture of when she was eating too many carrots and after she stopped to help people see the difference.

In the picture on the left side, the woman was eating carrots every single day in large quantities and her skin had a prominent orange hue. She stopped eating carrots for a few months and then clicked the photo on the right side, which is also how she currently looks and the orange tone was completely gone. "Carotenosis before and after. Left was me in December, right is me now after I stopped eating carrots every day," the caption read. In one of the comments, the woman shared that she stopped eating carrots in late December and it took her a little more than three months to start looking like herself again. She was going through a "big bag" of carrots every few days and that prompted the change.

However, the woman reassured people that carotenosis was not actually a health concern unless they considered "turning orange" a problem. Nonetheless, she was a little worried when she saw her old photo. "I freaked out when I saw the left pic because I thought it was jaundice. But no. I just love carrots too much," she explained. In another comment, the person shared that she had started eating large quantities of carrots around summer last year and noticed the change in a few months. She added, "It's not a harmful condition. But aesthetically, I didn't want to be the only orange person in photos. The left pic has my family cropped out and I'm just... so distractingly orange next to all of them."

However, each and every person might not experience the same thing if they eat a similar amount of carrots, according to the person. "I'm sure there are plenty of variables that go into it (weight, height, age, etc.) and everyone's body is different. I'm naturally very pale and also short and thin, so it might just show up easier on me." She pointed out there were no linked health conditions with carotenosis as far as she knew. About her thoughts on eating carrots, the woman remarked, "Just don't do it every day!"

People shared their thoughts and experiences about the condition in the comments section of the thread. u/weenie2323 wrote, "I used to work for an organic juice factory where the pay was crap but you could drink all the juice you wanted. I had more than a few coworkers who had an orange tint. But dang, super fresh carrot juice is delicious!" u/raz-0 commented, "My kid went through a phase as a baby where he was only really eating orange things. He started turning orange." u/666mmmbop remarked, "I follow some girl on TikTok who drinks carrot juice every day to achieve this purposely…She does it so she doesn't have to self-tan and it actually looks good on her, lol."
