The mom revealed that it had been 12 years since her father passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. The woman was 6 months pregnant at the time of his death and unfortunately, her son never got the chance to meet his grandpa. “We have always kept his name alive and gave my son the middle name,” she noted. The mom added that she was casually going through her dad’s obituary and came across the comments. Suddenly, she noticed a name that felt familiar. Her son, Tatum, had written a comment after coming across his grandfather’s obit.

It read, “Hi papa, it’s your grandson Tatum. We never met because you died before I was born but I heard about you and you seem like a great man.” The little boy concluded his message with a tear-jerking assurance. “Your name lives in mine, Tatum Angelo,” he wrote. The mom was moved to tears and couldn’t understand how to process the experience. “I wept! He didn't say anything to us about it so I chose not to tell my son I saw it. I'm just touched and wanted to share,” she revealed. Knowing that her dad was remembered by her son even 12 years after his passing was relieving for her.

u/mmbtc added, "Family is all about values, tradition and stories. Here this is all packed together beautifully. Grandpa is remembered, valued and talked about. Grandson has the emotional intelligence and strength to post on the obituary and the integrity to just do it without bidding about it." u/housatonicduck said, "Your son has a very genuine heart. I love seeing kids today not be afraid to express their love and sadness and grief and everything else." u/catherinest remarked, “It’s so painful knowing my children will never meet her. People say they’ll know her through me and my stories and this gives me hope. How beautiful that your son loves his grandfather even if they aren’t together.”
