The safety of women is compromised to such an exhausting level that even commuting requires caution. For Instagram user Kalita Hon, who is also a fashion stylist, one subway ride took an uncomfortable turn when the man opposite her started behaving suspiciously. She doubted he was taking pictures of her without her consent, and when she confronted him, he tried to dismiss her claims. She later shared the incident under her handle @kalitaku on June 24, 2026, describing how the experience prompted her to make one move that would later help thousands of females.

Hon explained that she noticed the man sitting opposite her was secretly taking photos of her using his camera. She confronted him, saying that she clearly saw the shutter go off, but he denied the accusation. He made up excuses, claiming he was "looking at his photos," but she refused to believe him. Soon, the stranger got up and exited the subway without giving any proper explanation. Before he left, the woman quickly took a photo and video of him, capturing his appearance to share a caveat with fellow females. She cautioned the latter, saying that if they were ever in NYC, they should be careful about that person.

In her caption, she expressed frustration, writing, "Why can’t women just be left alone!" She also shared that she was shaken after the encounter because she could not fully understand his intentions. Inappropriate behavior should be called out, and this is exactly what another brave woman did. She shared how she reached a point where she could no longer ignore repeated unwanted actions from an older man in her amateur music group. What started as a small discomfort during rehearsals slowly turned into something she could not brush off anymore. She explained that the space, which was meant for creativity and teamwork, began to feel uneasy because of his creepy behavior.

The first clear moment came when the man suddenly touched her hair without asking. She immediately responded by saying, “Don’t touch my hair,” a reaction she said was new for her. Later, he touched her neck while she was sitting quietly. This time, she confronted him more directly, asking, “What are you doing? Don’t touch people without asking!” Instead of taking responsibility, he laughed and brushed it off, saying she was just ticklish. She firmly disagreed, making it clear that what she felt was discomfort. When he later said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” she felt the explanation did not match the repeated actions and lack of respect for her boundaries.
