An odd Snapchat message then led to further checking, revealing that the man had been physically unfaithful for at least two years. The woman later found that her partner had also been hiding a large amount of credit card debt. The financial secret added another major problem to their marriage. The mom said that they had started their relationship without debt, making the discovery especially difficult and leaving her unsure about how to deal with the financial situation. The husband has since moved out of the family home, while Tawny and the children remain there. The couple has two sons, aged 6 and 10. They have not yet shared the details of the marital problems with the children.
The financial experts first focused on helping the young mother protect her interests before making major decisions about the future. Warshaw and Kamel advised Tawny to speak with an attorney before making financial moves. Warshaw also suggested finding a counselor to help manage the emotional side of the situation.
