Woman feared a man was following her through the airport and onto her flight — what the flight attendant found next confirmed her worst fears
Remaining alert in public spaces, especially while traveling alone, can help individuals recognize warning signs before a situation escalates. Instagram user Alexandra Kenyon, who goes by @alexandrawalkerkenyon, shared a post on May 26, 2026, about a terrifying experience on her flight to Dallas. Kenyon was flying from Salt Lake City Airport when she noticed a man sitting across from her who kept looking at her. After a while, she realized he appeared to be following her. Unfortunately, he even boarded right behind her, and the situation became increasingly tense. Eventually, she caught the attention of a flight attendant, who looked into the issue and discovered something concerning.
Kenyon first thought something was off about the man’s vibe, but moments later, she realized he kept watching her without breaking eye contact. She chose to ignore him, hoping she’d be safe after boarding. In an update, she revealed that even then, the stranger sat diagonally across from her and continued staring. Afraid that confronting him might put her in danger, she first texted her mom and then wrote a note to the flight attendant. When the flight attendant read it, she immediately moved Kenyon to another seat. When the employee investigated further, she discovered that the man had purchased a last-minute ticket next to Kenyon's seat. The police were called.
Kenyon became convinced he was following her intentionally after she walked to get a snack and spotted him close behind her. He didn’t make any purchase and continued looking at her. Things got more concerning when the man boarded right behind her and pushed her forward all the way to her seat. After that incident, Kenyon was terrified and shaking. No other passenger intervened, and that’s when she decided to involve the flight attendant. Despite being someone who usually calls out wrongdoing, in that moment, she found herself speechless and mortified. She had no idea who the man was, what his intentions were, or whether he was under the influence of anything.
According to Travel Pulse, Erika Weisbrod, Director of Security Solutions at International SOS and Control Risks, women flying solo are at a higher risk of experiencing crime. Weisbrod suggested a few precautions, including preparing transportation and communication plans in advance, keeping loved ones informed about one's whereabouts, and remaining vigilant about potential threats. “This will not only make the traveler a harder target but will also make them more confident while traveling,” she noted. In another update, it was revealed that the flight attendant ensured the passenger's safety throughout the flight.
After landing, the police escorted the man off the plane, but since there was no direct evidence, they had to let him go. As an additional precaution, the flight attendant drove Kenyon to her car. Commenters were taking notes after hearing about her experience. @wavesofvictory said, “Your story is helping me to mentally prepare if I ever experience something similar.” @kori_peek remarked, “I fly all the time and the amount of crazies that are out there at the airport is wild.” @jkl67878 added, “Always tell the flight attendants.”
