Threads user Lizna, who goes by @bylizna, was stoked for her BBQ meeting with her match at a guesthouse. The latter took a turn when she fell and hurt her ankle. While she was struggling, the man chose an unexpected approach instead of helping. In her post shared on May 6, 2026, she revealed what followed left her shocked and disheartened.

Lizna explained that after seven years of being single, she finally decided to download Tinder again. Looking forward to dating again, she matched with a man who "seemed normal" and agreed to meet him for a meal. However, he later suggested renting a guest house for a barbecue instead because he only ate halal food. As they arrived, she offered to help carry the rest of the supplies from the car when her shoe slipped into a gap between the stairs. "I fell down as if someone unplugged me from existence. Flat. On my face," she recalled. After hearing a loud snap and realizing she couldn't get back up, she said her date looked at her, paused, and asked if he should "massage" her ankle. "Sir, I don't need a massage. I need a hospital," she wrote. What followed was even worse — he drove her home and dropped her at her gate. "Leaves. Before I even open the gate," she added.

Instead of taking her to the ER, the man offered a massage, and when she refused, he drove her home, not concerned about the fact that she needed immediate medical assistance. Alone outside her gate, she informed her mom, who later came and rushed her to the hospital. When she was finally examined, X-rays revealed she had torn ligaments on both sides of one ankle. By then, the pain medication had started to kick in. Lizna said she spent the next six weeks unable to walk and admits she still has weak ankles years later. She also deleted Tinder that same night and never heard from her date again. Now, three years later, she says she's finally ready to meet people.
