Woman funded her boyfriend’s hobbies and got him a job — when she asked him to pay for a prenatal checkup, his excuse was unbelievable
People will do almost anything and everything when in love, and it really takes an unexpected experience to open their eyes. An Instagram user named Jacky, who goes by @jacklynne, shared a post on July 30, 2026, recalling one such embarrassing relationship. After funding her then-boyfriend’s activities, she even used her connections to get him a job at a fancy hotel. Just when she thought things were getting stable, he showed his true colors. When she asked him to pay for her prenatal checkup since he was now earning, he refused for an unbelievable reason.
Jacky was with the man for three years, and he was unemployed for two of those years. During that time, she chose to support him in whatever way possible. When he told her he wanted to pick up a hobby, she financed it. She paid for and bought him a fancy basketball and a skateboard. Eventually, she got him a job through her contacts, and around the same time, she learned she was pregnant with his child. Since he had an income, she asked if he could pay for the prenatal checkup. He immediately refused, explaining that he had already used his money as a down payment for “'The Godfather' tattoo.”
It turned out that the man was least interested in settling down and creating a stable life. He went and splurged his money on an expensive tattoo without even knowing about "The Godfather" series. Jacky noted how he likely saw the visual on Pinterest or some platform and randomly decided to get it to look cool. The most ironic part was that after she asked him to pay for the appointment, he called her a gold digger. The woman had always been an independent person, and today, she is a single mom to a lovely daughter. In hindsight, her persistence in being with him and supporting his childish behavior felt nothing short of a “dumb” decision made in love.
