Artificial Intelligence might have its own share of plus sides for people if used in the right way. A mom who used ChatGPT to help pay her credit card debt is a great example. The woman went through a tough time during her pregnancy and went into postpartum depression after her daughter was born. Soon enough, a combination of things caused her to accumulate around $23,000 in credit card debt. But one day, she decided to take steps to get out of debt and did a 30-day challenge with ChatGPT for that, per a video shared by the woman, Jenn Allan, who goes by @_jenn.allan on TikTok.

In the video, Allan explained that she couldn't focus on her job after her pregnancy and her daughter had to stay in the NICU after birth. The woman was scared to use her emergency cash, so she ended up using her credit card a lot. "I know it was a bad decision, but honestly, I felt like my brain just wasn't working," she explained. Allan was not a frivolous spender and had decided to put all her focus on getting out of debt.

So she started the 30-day challenge with ChatGPT to get out of debt. "So the first task that ChatGPT has given me is to sell five things on Facebook Marketplace," Allan began. The woman was able to find five things that she either didn't use or had two of. It included an extra coffee maker, a photo frame kept in the garage, and more. "I am getting rid of all those things. I will let you know at the end of the week what has sold and what has not."

On the second day, ChatGPT asked the woman to check if she had any unclaimed property, and she ended up finding "over $50" by checking it. On the third day, ChatGPT asked her to cancel any subscriptions that she didn't use as often. "Today's task is to cancel an emotional subscription. So, for me that is Spotify. I pay $16.99 because both my husband and I have an account. Honestly, I just don't use it enough to justify the $16.99 per month, which adds up to be $200 in a year." The woman also paid for ChatGPT, but she used it every single day and thought it was one of the most useful things for her, so she kept it.

A week after the challenge, the woman shared an update about her progress. She had made zero dollars from the Facebook Marketplace, found $700 through unclaimed money, saved from cancelling her Spotify subscription, and benefited from getting a purchase from a cheaper source. She had reached close to $800 in savings through all the tasks.

Eventually, the woman shared a recap of the challenge and pointed out that she could find quite a lot of money in forgotten accounts, Venmo, and more because of ChatGPT's suggestions. At the end of the month, she made $80 from Facebook Marketplace. She wrote a poem about her dad and made $5, and found $9 through unclaimed rewards. Allan even wrote her debt amount on a watermelon and sold it on eBay for $51. But the person had done it to help her, and she had planned a special something for them instead — a digital product. Checking purses and jars helped her find some more cash. "Search through every app and account. So this is a big one. This is where I made $10,311 between my brokerage account I didn't know I had, the Venmo..."

She saved on a couple of things with the advice and was able to pay off around $12000 in a month. People could also use the woman's tips from ChatGPT and appreciated that in the comments. @toohighonfinal wrote, "I had over 1500 in unclaimed property! Thanks to you, I found it. I’ve gotta send in a little more info, but hopefully that ends up being legit!" @lcann824 commented, "Survey and receipt apps add up quickly and are easy money as long as you stay consistent!" @monicayoshimura10 remarked, "I would love to see like a monthly recap of how these make you money in the future!"
