Woman has spot-on response to doctors ‘wasting her time’ by ‘mansplaining’ her health issues and dismissing her

Several women are familiar with the experience of being dismissed by doctors. Because of this, they face increasingly dangerous health issues over time. A woman named Jessica Wetz (@jessicawetz6) was tired of doctors dismissing her because she was a woman and her issues did not seem important to them. She revealed that she would always be “mansplained” instead of receiving a diagnosis and would be sent off. To counter this disappointing reality, she came up with a flawless solution.

Her solution — medical binders. “Medical binders make things faster for doctors. That’s why we use them and why they thank me for them. Let me explain how it works,” Wetz confidently noted. She shared an example of how a conversation would go down with her given medical history and a doctor. “I had a doctor say to me, ‘There’s no way you had straightening of lumbar curvature at 14,’” she recalled. She added, “You don’t have to believe me, I have the report right here. Let’s read it together.” Wetz said she made her spot-on binder containing all of her medical records, reports and every other proof or history she may need to convince doctors to attend to her and give her a well-due diagnosis.

Another instance she noticed was that of doctors beating around the bush by asking for hundreds of tests before suggesting any possible diagnosis. “I had a doctor say to me, ‘Okay, Jessica, I’m gonna order you some labs and then in six weeks, we’ll go over them.’ I go, ‘What blood work do you want?’ He goes, ‘Vitamin D, Vitamin B, iron,’” the woman recalled. She immediately pulled out all of the tests, all safely stored in her binder. “Perfect, I had it 2 days ago. I have it right in front of me. We don’t need to wait 6 weeks,” she remarked. Wetz was one step ahead of doctors and refused to be dismissed by ignorance and lack of discipline.

She even noted how even if a doctor dismisses her, she is sure to leave with a potential diagnosis and get her issue tested. “I had a doctor say to me, ‘Okay, Jessica, I went over your results, everything is normal, have a good day, bye.’ ‘Hold up, doc, my CT showed liver disease,’” the woman confidently spoke up. Even with doctors trying to gaslight and confuse the woman about her reports, she was able to present everything on paper for the doctor to see evidently so that he had no chance of carelessly dismissing her. Wetz noted that she also had a summary page noting every diagnosis given as a backup.

“So a summary report doesn’t do s**t, the purpose of the binder is to prove to them what other doctors have said because they’re not gonna take my word for it,” she remarked after sharing multiple instances supporting the same. “With this book, I can shut down every time a doctor wants to sit there for 15 minutes and mansplain some bulls**t to me that’s not true. So talk about wasting time, this is how I avoid doctors wasting my time.”
@jessicawetz6 Replying to @iLike314159 Medical Binders PREVENT doctors from wasting limited time and resources. Its not a story book, its references when relevant. Female patients arnt believed so we must provide proof. Complex cases with huge files from different facilites result in serious things getting missed when you dont keep track yourself. Complaining that doctors dont have time for patients to make their job faster is irrational. #chronicillness #medicaladvocate #misdiagnosed #rareillness ♬ original sound - Jessica Wetz 🍉#6
