Woman reveals the 'hardest part' of living a glamorous life on cruise ship but it's not what you think
When we think of life on a cruise ship, all possible luxuries and a laid-back escape from daily life come to our mind. It's natural to assume that life feels like a vacation for anyone living on a cruiseliner with everything at their service and a view to die for. It's hard to imagine that someone living like that could have any struggles at all, but the truth is that everyone faces challenges, some that they love and some that are absolutely distressing. A woman named Christine Keseteloo (@dutchworld_americangirl) shared her experience and revealed the "hardest part" about her stay on a cruise ship.
She mentioned that her husband worked as a chief engineer on a cruise ship so she got to spend much of her time living on the cruise. “I live on a cruise ship for half the year with my husband, and it's often as glamorous as it sounds,” she told Business Insider. While she did mention the pros of living on a cruise ship, she also noted the cons. She was glad about not having to do laundry, making her bed, cooking, and doing chores. However, contrary to popular belief, the woman surprisingly revealed that she did have one issue, which was something that all of us would love to have too.
She pointed out, “One of the hardest things about living on a cruise ship is that I know right now if I just leave my cabin, I can go and have cookies, pizza, a shake. I could have anything I wanted, and I want it, I absolutely want it.” For everyone wondering why it's a problem, Keseteloo revealed that the fact that all of it is available at a whim is the very issue. “I am lying here. It is 2 pm. I had a salad for lunch, and I had some fresh fruit, but that didn’t fill me up. Right now, all I can think about is eating a burger with some French fries and some mayonnaise,” she remarked.
Elaborating further, the woman said that being self-disciplined and saying no to the indulgences of the mesmerizing menu is the problem she has to deal with. In her otherwise “perfect” life, she, like every other human, also finds it challenging to say no when a mouth-watering delicacy is available at her service. She wrote in the caption, “The hardest part about living on a cruise ship is that I am surrounded by free food all of the time. My body tells me it's either cookie time or time for a hamburger. The hardest part is telling myself to not eat.”
The woman added that having literally anything she wants at her service with a 50% discount isn't helping her discipline herself. And who would even say no to something so deliciously irresistible! People longed to have this plight and chuckled away at Keseteloo’s humorous situation in the comments. @just.mammy agreed, “I always gain weight on my cruises.” @mayaelious added, “I want these problems!” @kingabooaboo hysterically said, “After 3 months, they would have to cut me out of my cabin!”
