Woman rushed to authorities after 3 strangers at Denver airport gate forced her to reveal travel plans — security footage gave her chills
Traveling alone late at night is something people often think twice about. A woman named Peyton Williams (@peyton_m_williams) shared her experience in Colorado on TikTok when she had a late-night weekend flight scheduled, leaving her with little option but to make her way to Denver International Airport. But, when she arrived at the airport, things took a scary turn when three strangers began constantly questioning her about her travel plans, making her feel uneasy. She called it “one of the scariest things” in her life and warns solo travelers to stay alert. But it wasn’t enough, as what she discovered later through security footage left her frozen.

Williams arrived at the airport around 11 p.m., and everything seemed fine, though the airport was nearly empty, which was typical at that hour. There was still a lot of time before her flight, so she just sat and kept busy on her phone. After a while, a man stood “directly in front” of her, asking where she was traveling to. Williams tried to avoid engaging and withheld details, but when he pulled out and lit a cigar, she sensed clear red flags. Soon, two others joined him and insisted she answer his question. Extremely panicked, she managed to escape and alert the authorities, but footage later revealed that she had been followed since she entered the airport.
Williams felt trapped by three strangers, including a woman, as they constantly asked questions about her destination and the reason for her being in Colorado. Williams recalled the woman in the group saying in an angry tone, “My friend asked you where you are traveling to?” Meanwhile, Williams had already started making her close ones aware of her situation through voice notes and text messages. But the moment that forced her to flee the scene was when the strange woman insisted on accompanying her to the washroom and put her hands around her.
Williams refused, but the woman kept pressing, and the group soon resumed firing a series of unsettling questions. She then sprinted away and reported the incident to airport officials. She was told that the Air Field Marshal would be involved and that she had done the right thing by informing them. After examining security camera footage, officials said it seemed she was targeted from the beginning. “These people were following me basically the second I entered the airport, which is terrifying,” said Williams about what the footage revealed. She added, “I don’t remember the ins and outs of it. I genuinely blacked out.”
Williams recalled that the Air Field Marshal was involved in the case. Although the officials could not confirm much information about the incident and the motives behind it, they were sure that something was “fishy.” Now, nearly two years had passed, but Williams chose to share her experience to raise awareness among solo travelers. “Be aware of your surroundings, especially if you’re traveling alone,” she said after the incident on her Tampa-bound trip had made her avoid traveling alone at night ever since.
