Starting over might not be the easiest thing in most situations. But a man took it upon himself to start over and make his wife fall in love with him all over again after she lost her memories due to a car accident. The woman, Angela Hartung, from New York, was hit by a car while crossing an intersection in the city back in 2013. She suffered a severe brain injury and was in a coma for a month because of it. When she woke up, she had lost around 15 years of her memories and didn't remember her second husband, Jeff, at all, per CBS News.

"I do not remember anything at all. I asked for my two children, I thought they were like 2 and 8 years old. They were 17 and 23 years old," Angela recounted. She thought she was still married to her first husband, who had died quite a few years ago and her current husband was a complete stranger to her. So Jeff decided that he would court his wife again and make new memories with her. He also decorated the entire house with their old photos to ensure that his wife could remember the happy memories they had shared with each other over the years. They eventually fell in love once again and decided to get married again in 2018.

They had a wedding in New York's Central Park and celebrated their second chance at love with their family and friends. Memory loss can take a toll on a person's relationships, mental health and well-being in usual scenarios, per a study from Brigham Young University. It often leads to the loss of a relationship and causes people paramount stress as they are worried about their safety. Connecting emotionally can also be a struggle for many couples, per the study. But just like for Jeff and Angela, it has positive aspects for many other couples, too. The paper revealed that couples can achieve greater closeness by looking at things differently.

The study revealed that one couple used old notes and photos and discussed positive past experiences. This strengthened their bonds and reiterated the positive things about their relationship. The effort made all the difference. Jeff didn't look back at the incident that changed their lives drastically in a bitter way either. "I honestly believe that this happened for a reason. How many times have we said, 'I wish I could go back and do something over again?' I've gotten to do that," the man pointed out. The couple had been married for 17 years by the time their second wedding took place. "I love how you have helped me," Angela admitted to Jeff.

People commended the man's efforts for winning his wife's love back and pointed out how the couple's story looked like a real-life fairytale in the comments section of the video. @laststand1618 wrote, "Now she can fall in love with him all over again." @bjjackson9153 commented, "This story made me cry so much. My parents are going through the same thing." @bradowen668 remarked, "I think this is what true love looks like." @mattkelly2004 shared, "Stuff that fairytales are made of."
