Living away from family can be hard for young people and their parents alike. It might be especially hard when the person is stranded in a challenging situation and no one is around to help. A young woman whose car died all of a sudden had no way to get help either. She contacted one of her parents, but they couldn't do much for her from afar. But then they got in touch with a man, Zaheer, at an auto parts agency and things took a turn from there on, per Good Things Guy.

The 19-year-old student was driving her car in Cape Town, South Africa, one Sunday afternoon and had stopped somewhere. When she returned, her car would simply not start, no matter how much she tried. The young woman didn't have much experience with dead cars and was really confused about what to do. She was also panicking because she was stranded at that place. The woman called her parent in Johannesburg, but as they couldn't do much on the phone, both the woman and her parent were worried about the situation. They needed to find jumper cables and a person who could help the girl throughout the ordeal, but even after reaching out to multiple places, they couldn't find any solution.

However, then they reached out to Auto Parts Agency and Zaheer picked up their call. The man explained that his shop only sold car parts, but once he listened to what had happened, he asked the parent to tell him the location and more details of the scenario. The moment he hung up, Zaheer left the family function he was attending and went home to get jumper cables to help the woman. He drove to the location where the woman was and helped her get the car started. It was a big moment of relief for the woman and her family once her car was fixed. The grateful parent also wanted to pay Zaheer for his services and time.

However, Zaheer refused to accept any money, as he just wanted to help. The man explained that he had a young daughter, too and hoped that someone would help her in a difficult situation the same way he tried to help the woman. Living away from family and support might make a student want compassionate people whom they can turn to in times of need, according to a study. Zaheer showed that kind of compassion for the 19-year-old. The family was beyond thankful for what Zaheer did and it completely turned the woman's day around as she could happily drive around in her car now.

Many workers and shop owners go out of their way to show kindness to people. In another story, one dad was on his way to drop his daughters off at school. But his car ran out of fuel midway and he had no money to get it filled again, per Good Things Guy. The man, Justin Roderick's older daughter, really wanted to be at school because of a day trip and offered up the small amount of money she had. But when they finally walked for a while to a gas station, a kind gas station attendant decided to pay for their fuel and even handed the dad some money. The incident immediately lifted the man's spirits.
