Even when the future feels unclear, parents continue to prioritize their children’s well-being above everything else. A young mother recently showed the internet what an ordinary morning looks like for her while living in a tense region. Lana Elayan, a 25-year-old working mom from Amman, Jordan, shared a short video while loud air-raid sirens echoed around her. When she later revealed where she was headed with her baby, it left many people online shocked and emotional. As per Newsweek, the video was shared on TikTok on March 2, 2026, under the handle @lanaelayan.01

Elayan explained that she was heading to drop her baby off at a nearby daycare before starting her workday. The daycare is located close to their home in Amman, which is why she chose to walk while carrying her 4-month-old daughter, Emilia. The clip was filmed on March 2, 2026, at around 8:40 a.m., right as warning sirens were sounding across the city. Despite the noise, she continued with her routine, focusing on getting her child safely to daycare. The alarms had been sounding frequently in recent days as tensions increased across parts of the Middle East following military strikes and retaliatory actions in the region.

Living in such conditions can change how families experience even the simplest parts of daily life. Elayan added that warning sirens have become a common sound in recent days, sometimes interrupting both daytime activities and quiet nights. Like many parents, her main concern is protecting her child from fear. “Our baby wakes up and gets startled by the sounds, so we always try to comfort her and make her feel safe and calm,” she told the outlet. Whenever the alarms grow loud, she and her husband focus on keeping Emilia calm, distracting her and comforting her until the noise subsides.

Sometimes it is surprising how people manage to carry on with everyday responsibilities in such circumstances. Elayan explained that daily life in her community still moves forward despite the uncertainty. For Elayan, continuing her routine is also a matter of responsibility. She shared that work is necessary to support her household and maintain financial stability. “I have to take her to daycare so I can go to work and earn a living,” she said. She added that many people around her face the same reality, balancing jobs and family duties while dealing with regional tensions.

In situations like these, maintaining a sense of normal life can help people stay hopeful. Despite these challenges, she and her husband focus on creating a calm and steady environment for their daughter. “We still try to keep a normal routine as much as possible for her because children need to feel security and stability,” she said.

Many viewers commented on the short clip, expressing their shock and empathy. Some felt sympathy for her having to face such an unexpected and frightening situation, while others noted the demands of work life, highlighting how people often must continue their jobs even in a hostile environment. @lauren0716_ mentioned, "No mother should have to deal with this." @teodoramaria090 noted, "Not leaving my child for anything in this world." @jaymidemos remarked, "As a childcare educator, I’d protect those babies with my life. I’m sorry you're going through this."
