5-yr-old saw dad dialing 911 when he couldn't breathe and took over the call. Her cute responses saved the dad's life

Emergencies can be overwhelming, but 5-year-old Savannah Hensley handled it like a pro. When her father, Frank, started having chest pains and struggling to breathe, he dialed 911, but by the time the call connected, he could not talk. That’s when Hensley stepped in and took charge, saving her dad’s life while melting hearts with her innocent, matter-of-fact responses. The moment the dispatcher answered, she got straight to the point. "My dad can’t...can hardly breathe," she said. The dispatcher replied, "Okay, hold on a second, ok? How old are you?" "I'm five years old," she answered. The conversation was shared by The Bonnie Hunt Show (@thebonniehuntshow) on YouTube.

The dispatcher then asked her her name and she said, "Savannah." He told her help was on the way. She had one urgent request, "Okay, You need to come real fast." The dispatcher reassured her and then asked if her dad was still awake. "Yeah," she confirmed. The dispatcher then asked about the front door, "Is your front door unlocked?" She turned to her dad. "Is our front door unlocked?" she asked before turning back to the dispatcher, saying, "No." The dispatcher then asked her, "Okay, Savannah, can you go unlock that front door for me?" to which, she answered, "Sure." As the dispatcher continued gathering information, he asked her to check if her dad had chest pain.

"Do you have any chest pain?" she asked. When her dad answered yes, she relayed it back. Even in the middle of an emergency, she stayed calm. But soon, a concern popped into her mind when the dispatcher said help was on the way. She said, "We’re in our jammies… and I’m in a tank top. So… I’ll have to get dressed." Also, she said, "Okay, I don't know what I’m gonna wear, but he really needs oxygen, real fast." The dispatcher assured her that wouldn’t be a problem. She stayed on the line for over 10 minutes, keeping her dad awake and making sure he was okay. When the dispatcher reminded her to stay with him, she agreed but still wanted to make sure she was dressed appropriately.

"Okay, I’ll be in my room, putting on…" she started before the dispatcher cut in. He said, "Savannah, I want you to stay with your daddy, okay?" to which, she responded, "Okay." But she also had another important update about the family dog. She said, "We have a dog… that’s really small. He’s friendly. He kind of barks." Her quick thinking and clear communication helped emergency responders get to her dad in time. He made a full recovery, and dispatcher Jason Bonham was in awe of her composure. "Most people, when you talk with them, they’re so hysterical. Every time I’ve listened to it, it’s amazing. She’s just a little person." he said, as reported by Bored Panda.
