Proposals generally call for a special arrangement, in the presence of loved ones and all those who have made the relationship possible. Jason Seifert, a science teacher at an elementary school in Ohio, didn’t want to leave his precious students out of the picture when proposing to his love, math teacher Ally Barker, as per ABC News. Seifert ensured that his tiny tots would be present when he made the special announcement to the teacher. In a video shared by Good Morning America, the 5th graders are seen bursting with excitement as the couple teachers unfold the news.

Seifert began by addressing the dating rumors about him and the math teacher that the students had been asking him. “There has been a rumor going around that Miss Barker and I are dating," he said and added, "I knew they would freak out, they'd be a little bit hyper and they were just overwhelmed with excitement." He explained that some of the students had been “snooping on Facebook and saw that we were in a relationship.” “There would be a brave kid that would make some comments like, 'I heard you and Miss Barker were dating.' I'd say, 'Really? Have you heard that? I hadn't heard that yet!'" the teacher continued.

Barker even recounted the time she asked the kids if they thought she was dating Seifert and “all the kids raised their hands.” With giggles going around the classroom and kids blushing, the science teacher cleared things out by confirming the same. As soon as he verified the dating rumor, his ears were met with a loud squealing and yelling in excitement. Barker was confused, trying to figure out what this conversation might mean. Trying hard to silence the class, the teacher added, “We are a little bit more than dating because I am completely in love with her.” The yelling and excitement increased, and the joy was accompanied by unending applause. Despite the teachers’ efforts to shush the class, the kids’ delight knew no bounds.

After a long request to contain their excitement, the kids finally calmed down and eagerly waited for the teacher to continue his speech. However, they had no idea that Seifert would be creating a once-in-a-lifetime moment for them in the classroom. “I was wondering if Miss Barker would like to become Mrs Seifert,” the teacher said, immediately pulling out a ring from his pocket and getting down on a knee. He had done it! The science teacher had finally proposed to Barker and the kids went berserk.

With tears in her eyes, the teacher took a moment to contain herself and immediately responded with a yes, sharing a warm embrace. "I pretty much figured that we met because of that school, we became friends because of that school, we fell in love because of that school, so it made sense," Seifert said. He added that the teachers, too, were a family to the duo and he didn’t wish to have this moment without them.
