A Reddit user who goes by u/Superb-Cupcake-8271 had known a 43-year-old man from her church for many years. When he revealed that he had feelings for the 20-year-old, she made it clear that in her eyes, he was nothing more than a brother. In her post on April 19, 2026, she shared that he then sent her the pre-written rejection script he had ready. It freaked her out even more.

The young lady had known the man since she was a little girl. He had recently gotten a divorce and started hanging out more with the youth at his church. The duo even happened to work together, and after spending much time around her, he admitted to have caught feelings for her. When he revealed this, the youngster honestly replied that he was nothing more than a brother to her. To her surprise, he sent a pre-written rejection script. A majority of it made her feel more uncomfortable. It included statements like, "I knew there were slim chances of this working out," along with mentions of how "beautiful, smart, and kind" she was. However, one remark stopped her cold. "I've already told you I like you, so if you ever start liking me, it's on you to tell me," he said. Not only did he continue to bother her, but he further confessed his feelings despite a clear refusal.
The messages grew increasingly persuasive, and the man continued to send confusing signals. He repeatedly sent her affirmations and texted her every day to a point where she had to report him to the pastor. The latter took action and sorted out the issue immediately. After blocking the creep, she expressed her gratitude toward the church members for supporting her and taking her side. The former, who was in his 50s, supposedly kept sharing at her before he approached her mid-workout. However, another gym regular whom she referred to as "Mr. Grumpy" and actively avoided on other days, noticed that something was off. She had given him the name since he always looked serious and never smiled. To her surprise, it was the same person who came to her rescue. He quietly checked on her and told the creep to give her some space. Following his firm request, the guy who behave inappropriately backed off immediately.
