After being ghosted twice, woman told him to send $100 if he wanted her attention — his response wasn’t what she expected
Single people are exhausted from being taken for a ride while just trying to find a partner. So they’re coming up with creative ways to teach frustrating personalities a lesson. A TikTok user named Carol Moon revealed one such stunt she pulled after interacting with an annoying stranger. In a post shared under her handle @carolmoonsworld on April 18, 2026, she explained that he had been trying to plan a date with her for months, only to ghost her for weeks before reappearing again. Fed up with his antics, she told him he had to pay her $100 if he wanted more of her attention, only to receive a shocking reply.
The woman was exhausted after repeated attempts to plan a date fell through. Sharing a screenshot, she showed how he had texted her on March 10, asking her out to brunch or dinner, and never followed up. More than a month later, on April 17, he texted again, hoping to make plans. This time, she told him that he had ghosted her a couple of times, and that if he wanted attention, he had to send her $100 through Cash App. She also told him not to contact her until he had made the payment. The man was immediately offended by this message and responded, “Your attention isn’t even worth a dollar; you’re pushing 30.”
Taken aback by his words, she delivered another sharp reply. “And yet you’re the one banging on my door over and over.” The woman was simply stating the facts. She explained, and as the chat rightly showed, the man was the one who kept texting, ghosting, and then texting again. Addressing his comment about her age, she clarified that she was not “pushing 30”; she was going to turn 30 in a few months and had no regrets about it. She concluded by saying she was more than happy to get rid of him and would be blocking him. She added that the message was one of the best ways to handle the situation. “Worst-case scenario, they’ll just shut up and leave you alone or, best-case scenario, you'll get $100.”
One of the basics of dating is open communication. If you like someone, let them know. If you don't, make it clear. Ghosting and leaving a person confused with mixed signals doesn’t help anyone. In another instance, a woman named Sarah came across a man who had ghosted her for a year. When he saw her at the gym again, he struck up a conversation before offering several explanations for why he had never contacted her.
He first said he deleted the app shortly after meeting her. Then, he claimed he had lost her number. Looking him in the eye, she dialed his number on the spot. His phone started ringing with her name flashing on the screen. He was horrified and tried to come up with more excuses. Ultimately, when he asked her out to dinner, Sarah replied, “I don’t think my girlfriend would like that,” and walked away, leaving him confused, without closure, just as he had left her.
