It’s common for people to have wild and unsettling experiences with online dating. Narrating one such incident on October 11, 2025, a single mother who goes by @k.i.l.a.97 on TikTok, recalled matching with a man on Tinder with whom she did not proceed further, leading her to ghost him. However, months later, when she accidentally texted him, he remembered something she had mentioned, which turned into a scary situation. Sharing the story with her TikTok followers, she revealed that she now avoids disclosing a personal detail because of this eerie experience.

The TikTok user and single mother shared her scary experience from the days she was using Tinder. She had once matched with a man named Matt. However, a couple of hours into talking to him, she realized they were compatible and later ghosted him. During their conversation, she had made the mistake of revealing one detail that she still regrets saying. She noted that she disclosed the place she worked, which she now avoids telling. Months later, she wanted to text her cousin, who also goes by the name Matt. However, after she sent the message, she received a text that said she had sent it to the wrong person. That's when she realized that the message she had intended to send to her cousin was accidentally sent to the ex-Tinder date.

She contacted her aunt to get her cousin's number and texted him, saying, "Hey, so funny. I just went to text you, and I actually texted this guy that I had ghosted." Unfortunately, it turned out to be the same man, who replied, "Yeah, this is still him." She blamed Apple for merging contacts that went by the same names. She also revealed that she never really had the practice of deleting contacts.

However, months later, when she was at work, someone had booked a hair appointment under the name Matt, at the salon where she works. Although she had already suspected it was him, she was shocked when the "bald man" showed up. She hid during the entire appointment, but it turned out he was her co-worker's regular client. "He didn't even live in the same town, so the fact that he showed up there was so weird," she noted. She also highlighted the man's desperation to meet her despite ghosting him twice.
