Meetups work best when important details are planned and discussed in advance. A TikTok user who goes by @vampire.bunnii informed her date beforehand that the restaurant he wanted to take her to was an expensive one. In the clip shared on Saturday, May 30, 2026, she mentioned how he still insisted on going there. The evening seemed like it was straight out of a movie initially but it quickly took an awkward turn when the $250 check arrived. He made a “proposition” that left her wide-eyed and unsure how to respond.

She shared how she came across a tall, fit, and good-looking man on Hinge. While planning the date, he insisted he wanted to “spoil her” and suggested Nobu, a luxury restaurant, for the evening. Since she knew it was an expensive place, she double-checked with him, and he reassured her confidently. He even encouraged her to order freely from the menu, and the early part of the meeting felt relaxed and enjoyable. However, things changed later when the bill arrived, and he hesitated. Then he brought up a “proposition,” asking if she could cover the $250 bill for that night, saying he saw potential in their compatibility and could "spoil" her later on.

His idea came from his bizarre ambition and hopes for his career. Earlier, when she had asked him about his work, he shared that he had started a fashion company, which he had fully invested in, and was convinced that it would "blow up" someday. He also made a light joke suggesting she could be his “sugar mommy,” which she found uncomfortable. The unbelievable part is that he had never communicated that he expected her to cover the bill until that moment. Not before the date, and not even when the check arrived. It was when the waitress briefly checked on them that he shared his pointless suggestion. “I look at this man wide-eyed,” she said, adding that any connection she felt before that proposition had now disappeared.

She told him she could not pay the full amount but offered to split it. She had to ask him to request his parents to help him with the payment since he couldn't afford it. He agreed, and she paid her share before leaving. After going home, she unmatched with him and said she “never spoke to him again.” Many internet users later chimed in to share their opinions. @hey.evelyn93 joked, "He did spoil you, spoiled your day!" @ahauntedhistory said, "I would have gone to the restroom and never returned." @mamita043 remarked, "I would have left when he said the stuff about his business."
