A young child might find it hard to be away from their parent for any reason. However, a little boy's reaction to his dad leaving for work made his mom emotional, too. The mom, Kyli Wilson, even went as far as to say that she might have to ask her husband to be the stay-at-home parent instead of her because of their son's reaction. Kyli, who goes by @ky__roz on TikTok, shared the 3-year-old's reaction on the platform. The brief clip received over 1.1 million views.

The woman posted a clip of her son crying while watching something on the phone. "People talk about having a mama's boy...but this is my son, repeatedly watching videos of his daddy five minutes after he left for work," the text overlay of the video read. In the caption, the woman explained that she had taken the video to show it to her husband. "I took this to tell my husband he might have to be the stay-at-home parent instead… the saddest, most precious little face. He loves his daddy so much." Kyli told Newsweek that her son, Calvin, often cries when his dad, Rusty, leaves the house in the morning. The boy would also stand by the door, hoping that his dad would come back for him.

"He doesn't use a ton of words yet, but 'dada' comes up all day long because you can tell he's thinking about him and missing him," Kyli remarked. However, the mom is really glad that her son shares such a strong bond with his dad. "I cherish their bond and I never take it personally that he favors his dad. It's a little heartbreaking to see him sad, but it's also something really precious to witness." She also shared that the dad doesn't let go of the toddler once he is back home. "He picks him up and usually doesn’t put him down for the rest of the evening. Whatever Rusty needs to do at home, he does it with a toddler on his hip."

Through the comments on her video, the mom came to know that many dads experience what her husband experiences daily. She was happy to see dads who were so involved in their kids' lives. "The standard has changed and it's beautiful to see how much love and intention dads are pouring into their kids today." @str1g1f0rmes wrote in the comments, "My husband is also blue collar. People think our baby is a Mama's girl because she's always with me and seeks me out for comfort, but as soon as she hears his voice on the phone, she's smiling and as soon as he gets home and walks into the bedroom, she's crawling to him if she's awake. When Dad's around, I'm chopped liver."

@pea_aidan commented, "As a blue-collar dad… I now know what they feel…I truly wish I could spend all day, every day with my kids." @sane.location303 remarked, "Aww, that man better understand how much that little baby loves him. That's so damn wholesome. I just know he's excited when he gets home." @bigbadbrads shared, "So messed up, man. We really all should be spending time with our families, but I get it… I have to provide. It just doesn't feel fair." The mom often shares glimpses of her family life on the platform. In one video, she shared her simple way of putting up the "elf on the shelf."
