American woman annoyed by spam calls nearly reports a ‘fake’ Uber delivery — then an email from overseas sends her racing to the door
A special gesture can lift spirits and make the day unforgettable. One American woman recently found herself caught between annoyance and joy in a single morning. Instagram user Kaylen had been woken up by yet another spam call early on Valentine’s Day. The caller claimed to be an Uber driver with a delivery she hadn’t ordered, and she nearly reported it as a fake service. Frustrated, she hung up, convinced it was just another scam. But minutes later, her phone buzzed again, this time with an email notification from overseas. Confused and curious, she raced to the door, and what she found completely took her by surprise. The viral post was shared on Sunday, February 15, 2026, on Instagram under the handle @kaylenmj.
Kaylen explained the situation in her video while speaking to the camera. She said, “So it’s Valentine’s Day and an unknown number calls my phone, I’m dead asleep.” She had been woken by a caller claiming to be an Uber driver delivering something she hadn’t ordered. Annoyed and suspicious, she quickly realized it was likely a spam call and hung up. Normally, Uber calls show up clearly on the phone, but this came from a random number with a text, “Hey, I’m outside.” She laughed as she explained how convincing the call had seemed and how advanced these scams had become.
Later, her phone buzzed again, this time with a message from a man she had dated in Hawaii. She said, “It’s the guy I used to date in Hawaii. He’s like, ‘Did you get my present?’” Kaylen explained that she had moved to New York a few months earlier after getting accepted into journalism school, leaving Hawaii to pursue her dream of becoming a successful journalist. When she left, he got deployed on a Navy submarine, and they could only communicate by email during his nine-month deployment. That morning, he had reached out from overseas to ask if she had received his gift, catching her completely off guard and sparking her curiosity.
Excited, Kaylen ran downstairs to check the delivery. She found a bouquet of flowers in a bag and a note from him. She said, “You all, he sent me flowers,” showing the thoughtful gift. She explained that he had sent the flowers while he was at the bottom of the ocean and had arranged the delivery after docking somewhere in Asia. Holding the bouquet, she smiled and hugged it, slightly emotional at the gesture.
She emphasized, “So if your man from down the block didn't send you flowers today, he's cut. Look at what people can do from the bottom of the ocean. If he wanted to, he would.” The gesture left her amazed, saying it had “rewired her brain chemistry,” showing her that when someone truly cares, distance and challenges don’t matter.
