At her wedding, the bride’s best friend played a voice memo from the night she first met the groom — 45 seconds later, everyone was in tears
Best friends send each other voice memos, and although these messages might sound impromptu and irrelevant, they could very well become treasures in the future. TikTok user Anna Cooper, who goes by @anna_cooperrr, held on to one such clip. In her video posted on July 8, 2026, the woman was giving a speech at her friend, Caroline Coady's wedding, and mentioned that there was no better way to go back to the day the bride and groom met than the audio clip itself. She trimmed the 7-minute voice note to 45 seconds, and in the end, every guest in the room was filled with tears.

In her speech, Cooper recalled the day Coady and her groom, Colton Powell, met. The event took place a few years ago, when the two were at the same wedding reception. "I wish I could stand here tonight and do my best to try and explain just how excited Caroline was when they just met, but thankfully I don't have to," she said. The woman revealed that the two best friends often sent voice notes, updating each other about life, but she wanted to play one recording in particular — the one her pal had sent after interacting with Powell. In the clip, the now-bride revealed that the two hit it off instantly and gushed about finding him "cute." Guests had a mix of emotions; some were filled with surprise, others were bursting into laughter, while a few were emotional.
Caroline repeatedly mentioned one thing throughout the clip — how she was playing it cool because she didn't know where this would go. Yet, Cooper later joked, "I'm not sure how 'cool' you played it, going to Malibu two weeks later." She added how those few seconds made her smile and how she had already heard the audio a million times. "I think even then, there was something different in Caroline's voice about this new guy she just met," she remarked, and guests couldn't help but agree. Online users shared their input. @SawdustFairy wrote, "I love that it's edited down because presumably there may have been some things said that she didn't want everyone to hear." @Amyrica commented, "A best friend would only play the good and sweet! She made this perfect for her without too much information." @M_swimz shared, "Oh, I love it! They're literally in love and married now."
A creative bridesmaid speech can add to a memorable wedding day. In another story, a bridesmaid named Hannah Heiss mentioned how she didn't fancy third-wheeling her sister and brother-in-law. So, with the permission from the bride and groom, she pointed out that she was single and asked the crowd if anybody was interested in asking her out. "Sign me up, I'll be by the bar," she remarked. Much to her luck, her words grabbed the attention of one groomsman. She later revealed that she'd be visiting New York to meet him.
