Some incidents tend to derail well-prepared plans, even if they are meant to be a happy one. A couple experienced something similar when the bride's water broke on their wedding day. They were excited for the baby but wished they could have gotten married before their daughter was born, per Salem Health's YouTube channel. But to their surprise, the hospital staff started thinking on their feet and managed to prepare a last-minute celebration for the couple, leaving them overwhelmed with emotion on their big day.

The man, Shane Callandret, recounted how his fiancée told him that her water broke and he went back to sleep like a "typical man." Deborah Callandret shared, "We were supposed to get married today out at the courthouse at the tribe at 11:00." Her fiancé was worried about what would happen to their wedding even though he was really happy. "I was frustrated that our wedding had stopped." Deborah's water broke at 4 AM, which was a surprise as she was not due for another four weeks, per HuffPost.

Meanwhile, the hospital found out that even though her water broke she had not gone into labor yet, so they admitted her to the hospital room. They learned the couple was a bit sad because of what had happened and wondered if they could arrange something. All the nurses decided to arrange for the couple to get married at the hospital itself. "It would kind of be fun if we could arrange for her to actually get married. Everyone just got excited and it only took about an hour and a half and everything started coming together," Terri McCarrell, the medical center's assistant nurse manager in labor and delivery, explained in the YouTube video.

The staff had arranged for food, balloons and flowers. They handed a bouquet to Deborah and pinned a matching one to Shane's hoodie. An officiant came in to get the couple married as they sat beside each other on Deborah's hospital bed. Shane repeated the vows after the man. His now-wife did the same and broke down a little as the vows went on. They even exchanged their rings as Shane stood beside the bride's bed. The officiant pronounced them husband and wife and the couple kissed each other as the nursing staff cheered for them. Some of the staff members also teared up as they witnessed the beautiful moment.

"I think it was absolutely amazing and a beautiful, wonderful thing that they did for me and my husband," Deborah expressed. "I couldn't ask for a better woman in my life and I am just glad that I got to spend this time and cherish the moment with her and the people who put it together for us at such short notice," Shane admitted. "I think it's a blessing just to be able to care for families and to be able to make each part of their story happen. I think it's special to be a part of that," McCarell pointed out. The couple had their marriage license faxed to the hospital. Deborah gave birth to a baby girl, Aponi Callandret, at 7:14 AM the next morning. Her name means "butterfly" in the Blackfoot tribal language, per the outlet.
