Woman was having ‘rough time’ after friend’s death — then Amazon delivery man’s unexpected note made her smile

Losing a loved one is a heartbreaking experience that is followed by bittersweet moments. A woman, who goes by u/zestycheezecake on Reddit, revealed that an Amazon driver surprised her with a heartfelt note that helped her smile after a long time of grieving. The woman mentioned in a comment that her friend had passed away and she’d been having a "rough time" but the note brought sweet relief.

“I’ve been having a rough time for a while now, ever since my best friend passed away,” the woman wrote. She added that she had learned the skill of chalk art after her late friend had encouraged her. She had been terribly missing him but continued the chalk art in his honor. She drew an impressive artwork right outside her door. When the Amazon driver arrived at her doorstep to drop the package, he spotted the chalk art and was awestruck. “I had a package delivered today and when I went to grab it, I saw that my delivery driver wrote this on the package,” the post mentioned. Before leaving, the driver left a kind handwritten message.

The note read, “Best chalk art ever.” “Checked my blink cam to watch the clip and he (Amazon driver) looked so happy. His compliment and joy made my day so much brighter!” the woman added. The driver had no idea about the woman’s loss and grief but went out of his way to leave a compliment out of thoughtfulness and it made all the difference. “Seeing a stranger appreciate my art and leave a compliment like this has touched my heart. It reminds me there are still good people out there,” the woman remarked.

The woman's wholesome experience touched the hearts of many. u/charming-tap-1332 wrote, “I'm sorry about your best friend. I love chalk art myself. Whenever I see it in my neighborhood or anytime I'm walking, it brings a smile to my face.” To this, the woman responded, “Thank you for the kind words, he was the best! It makes me happy to know people like you may be walking by and feel the same way about my art.” The woman even shared the art she had made outside her home in a comment and as expected, people loved it and assured her that the driver was right.
