Every person is entitled to follow their dreams or hobbies, irrespective of their gender. Being bullied for investing in their passion is the worst thing that can happen to someone. So, when a boy was mocked for crocheting in school, strangers on the internet knew what to do to hype him up. A heartbroken mom took to TikTok to share that her son was being bullied at school for liking crochet. The impact was so severe that the boy threw all of his yarn in the trash and demanded to be homeschooled so that he didn't have to face other kids. The mom, who goes by @disney_diva4u on TikTok, asked the internet for help and many people online showed up for the little boy.

The kid told his mom that he didn't want to go to school anymore in a distressed tone. "I kept pressing him, 'Why don't you want to go back anymore?'" the mom recounted. She found out that her son was being teased because some kids found out that he loved crocheting. "My son learned how to crochet. He picked up that skill all on his own," the woman highlighted. The boy learned the skill from YouTube videos and his mom was really proud of him. "I bought him yarn and he would ask for different patterns online and he was excited about his creations." But some boys at his school had started to make fun of him, saying that crocheting is "something that girls do."

The mom teared up as she shared what her son did with his crochet hook and thread. "He put it all in the trash. Now he doesn't want to do it anymore." She added, "He is just feeling that at the end of the day, he just doesn't want to be teased." The mom asked people on the internet, "Are there guys out there who crochet, who make stuff? I would love to show him your videos so he can see that crocheting is for everybody." The video garnered a lot of attention online and many guys, who crochet as a hobby, made videos to show the boy that crocheting is for everybody.

Mister Bri, who goes by @sirmisterbri on TikTok, shared his crochet creations to encourage the boy. "I saw a video of a little boy who stopped crocheting because he was being bullied." The man had made a green crochet plushie called "Seaweed." He explained, "He is the first Cthulhu I made so he is a little bunk, lol." He also made a sheep modeled after the ones featured on Animal Crossing. He had also made a monkey, a sweater sleeve that he planned to continue, and a few princesses to gift to his nieces. @the.cro.bro. whose creations always left the boy inspired, shared that he was a huge fan of the kid too.

The man decided to send him his own "crochet ninja star." He also sent a bunch of stickers and crochet stuff and his own "Darth crochet, crochet hook." The man agreed to give up his hook on one condition. "You have to make stuff with it and I have to see all the cool stuff you make with it, deal," he asked the kid. A singer, Dylan Dhindsa (@dylan.dhindsa on TikTok), shared that he liked to crochet when he was not making music. He was wearing one of his own creations and shared that his mom taught him how to crochet and it was the best thing that happened to him.

The mom took to TikTok to thank people for the responses to her video and for encouraging her son to start crocheting again. She also displayed one of his creations. The boy had made a frog for his mom and she had named the toy Matilda. Because she wanted a girl frog, the boy made a little crochet bow, a sweater and booties for the frog. "This I keep next to my bed. So I don't want him to stop what he is doing because the joy that he brings is amazing," said the mom.

The kid also appeared in a video and shared that he had decided to give crochet another chance and made an octopus on camera. People took to the comments section to appreciate hid work. @the.cro.bro wrote, "It looks great! Such good work little dude!! Can’t wait to see more. Gonna repost this." @meiguogirl commented, "Crocheting and wearing an axolotl shirt?! Could he be any more awesome?" @tyler_exe remarked, "As another guy who crochets, keep doing it, man! You have an amazing skill and you shouldn’t dull yourself for others! Love your octo."
