Many children struggle to fit in with their peers at school. But in severe cases, kids fail to keep up with the peer pressure or changing trends and end up getting bullied. Being bullied in the formative years can have a lasting negative effect on the minds of these young ones. According to Fox 19, a school student named Michael Todd knows about this all too well. Todd attends MLK College Preparatory High School in Tennessee and comes from a less privileged household.

Todd's mother can't afford to buy trendy new clothes for him. As a result, he has to repeat many of his clothes to school daily. Turns out, Todd's unfortunate situation has brought him under the radar of bullies at his school. “I really don’t have clothes at home. My mom can’t buy clothes for me because I’m growing too fast,” Todd explained to Fox 19. “I’ve been bullied my entire life.” But it wasn’t just Todd who was feeling the effects of this unfair treatment from his bullies. Luckily, all of Todd's peers weren't giving him a hard time at school. Students like Kristopher Graham and Antwan Garrett stepped in to defend Todd.

Graham and Garrett, who play high school football, knew they had to help Todd in some way and talked about what they did with the new outlet. “When I saw people laugh and bully him, I felt like I needed to do something,” Graham told the local broadcast station. The high school athletes decided to sort through their own closets and picket out suitable pieces of clothes, new shoes, shirts and shorts just for Todd. The moment was captured in a heartwarming video shared by CBS News where Graham and Garrett handed over the bag of necessities to Todd.

“He wasn’t smiling or anything, and I was like, ‘I think this is going to make you smile,'” Graham recalled the moment when they surprised Todd during the third period. “I told him, ‘We’re in the same third period and I apologize for laughing at you and I want to give something to you to make it up.'” Todd revealed that he was getting bullied for three weeks straight before Graham and Garrett showed him their act of kindness.

“The best day of my entire life, basically,” Todd admitted and thanked his new friends, “I was very happy. Shocked completely. You guys are the best guys of my entire life." Garrett and Graham's acts of kindness influenced other people in the U.S. to come forward and donate essentials to Todd and others like him in school. Ever since Todd's video went viral, the college prep school has been accepting clothing and monetary donations for students in need.
