Bride raised by single mom was ready to walk down aisle alone—an unexpected offer by landlord left her speechless

Many brides dream of their wedding day and one of their hopes is to have their dad walk them down the aisle. The tradition followed by many for years didn’t seem to be on the cards for Beau Noir, TODAY reported. Raised by a single mother and not having a dad in the picture, she didn’t expect one to just show up. She was determined to make the walk down the aisle by herself. While the wedding prep was on, her landlord came up to her with a generous and unexpected offer. It ended up giving her wedding a special touch she never imagined.

Noir was set to marry the man of her dreams, Victor Fox. However, since her mother passed away and she had no father, she was considering walking down the aisle by herself. Not having anyone to give her away, she didn’t want to dwell on the sentiment the tradition held. “I didn't have much of a plan. I was trying to avoid some of the feelings behind that. It was just a lot,” she remarked. Her love story with Fox started in the building where she lived, she revealed in a Facebook post. Owned by Gill Pulliam, the landlord witnessed the duo fall in love from the day they met in 2019. Noir mentioned that they were “inseparable” after that special meeting.

The bride chanced upon a conversation with her landlord that went beyond professional terms. He revealed that his wife had passed away earlier this year and the grief was hard. The woman mentioned that though the elderly man always had “good vibes” and was delightful to be around, that day, he revealed the sorrow in his heart. “We had no idea. I gave him a hug because I was like, ‘He's taking his time to be vulnerable with me. I can't imagine how long he has held this in,” she explained. Eventually, Noir, too, shared her share of grief and loss and the duo bonded over their poignant stories.
Three months shy of the wedding, Puillam came up with a proposition at the back of his mind. He spoke to Fox and gave him a thumbs up and then went on to ask Noir a question that would turn her wedding day around. He asked her whether he could walk her down the aisle. “He sat me down and asked me, which I thought was so sweet. I've never had a man sit me down and do something so honorable,” she remarked. The woman was caught off guard but felt so loved that it was tear-jerking. This profound offer was just a display of how much her bond meant to the landlord.

“I felt happiness, joy and I guess, a little bit of sadness. Not in a bad way — more in a way of like, ‘Wow. He sees that I don't have that in my corner.’ He wanted to be there and provide it,” the bride said. Sharing a post on Facebook, the bride noted, “In that moment, I felt something I’ve never felt before in a fatherly way, a man truly stepping up for me in the most honorable way. I am forever grateful. The bar is set and my heart is full.”
When she gave her a yes, Puillam went all out. “He was hands-on. He didn't play about his role,” Noir said. Right from getting a new suit to watching TikTok reels for inspo and figuring out just how the bride wanted to be given away, Puillam did it all. On the big day, his hand felt like the loudest assurance that said “I’m here for you,” the bride noted. Even after the wedding, the landlord is delighted to welcome Noir no less than a daughter. It has left a message etched on her heart — "You can love whoever, whenever. If your heart is pure, that's all that matters," she said.
