Bride-to-be headed for her bachelorette party when an attendant singled her out midflight — the passengers’ response became an unforgettable gift
A flight ahead of a bachelorette party is filled with excitement and so many other emotions about the grand event. However, Maya Lorimer, an Instagram creator, got a surprise before she even landed. While she was on the plane, a Southwest flight attendant made an announcement about the bride-to-be. Little did she know it would lead to the most pleasant pre-wedding gift. She shared the wholesome exchange on her handle @mayalorimer on August 7, 2026, and viewers couldn’t get enough of the thoughtful gesture.
The woman was probably expecting the usual pre-bachelorette excitement, but the flight attendant had something much more personal in mind. She announced mid-flight that there was a bride-to-be named Maya and asked the married couples onboard to write down any advice they had for someone about to begin married life. The crew handed out napkins and a few pens, and encouraged them to write from their hearts. She then requested the passengers give a round of applause as best-of-luck cheers to the flyer. She was smiling from ear to ear as she waved at all fellow travelers. When the entire cabin was done, the cabin crew collected the napkins and handed them over to the woman, along with a bottle of wine.
Maya was filled with gratitude as she looked at the many pages filled with best wishes, words of advice, and so many sentiments. The sweetest thing was that Maya was just expecting a normal flight to her destination but was leaving with a wedding-season gift and a bundle of napkins filled with love from strangers. She will forever remember it as the best surprise that could have happened even before her bachelorette. The comments were just as warm as the gesture itself. @sidneykilian wrote, "I would be sobbing reading those notes." @anaterpstra remarked, "That is the cutest thing ever." @victoriamorse said, "We need to see what everyone wrote." @southwestair also replied, "Wishing you a lifetime of love and adventures! It was a joy to celebrate you onboard! Congratulations."
Flight attendants often make headlines for gestures that offer people moments to remember for a lifetime. In another Southwest flight, an attendant handed passengers bandages and toilet paper, and they had no idea what they were supposed to do with them. The crew then revealed they were helping decorate the cabin for Captain Jeff’s retirement. Since it was his last trip before signing off, the staff asked the flyers to hang up the toilet paper as decor and attach the bandages to it. They then turned off all lights, only switching on the night lights as soon as the pilot walked in. The man was visibly touched by the surprise. Similar to the bride-to-be, the captain had a celebration he'd cherish forever.
