Bride-to-be was celebrating her bachelorette party when a phone mix-up exposed her fiancé’s affair — one detail made the betrayal even worse
Bachelorette parties are supposed to be about celebrating the bride before her big day. But one night at a bar turned into an unexpected nightmare for a woman. Instagram user Erin Gibney shared the story under her handle @eringibney after meeting the bride-to-be in the washroom. In a video posted on Sunday, August 9, 2026, Gibney recalled the jaw-dropping confession the stranger made about her partner, and one detail left her completely stunned.
Gibney walked into the bathroom and saw a woman in a bridal sash crying while three of her friends tried to comfort her. On inquiring if everything was okay, the bride-to-be told her she had just found out that her fiancé was cheating with one of her entourage members. After dinner, the woman accidentally put the latter's phone in her purse because both had matching covers. Later, when she pulled it out at the bar, she saw message previews from the groom-to-be saying things like, “I miss you so much” and “I wish I were with you.” But there was more to it. Turns out, the bridesmaid and the man were second cousins. The woman revealed that she eventually confronted the bridesmaid, who broke down and confessed to the affair.
After hearing about the bizarre situation, Gibney said she was left completely speechless. But she also noticed the looks on the other bridesmaids' faces, and she said they appeared to exchange guilty-looking glances while comforting their friend. It made her think that the others probably already knew and had been hiding this information all along. Sharing a message with the person, she noted how she should reconsider the wedding and distance herself from the people involved. Internet users were also stunned by the discovery. Out of curiosity, she asked whether he had recently taken a liking to her, only for him to refuse the claim. That's when she got suspicious and showed him the music. The visual left him speechless, and he looked visibly confused and concerned. Later, her friend confirmed her worst fears. Turns out, the man was cheating on her and had gone on the Eras Tour with another woman. The latter posted it, and her friend happened to see him and recognize his tattoos in the image.
