Bride was grieving the loss of her best friend—received 'sign' from late friend that helped her cope with loss

Many people leave an indelible mark on a person's life. So celebrations might feel a little difficult in their absence. A woman who was about to get married was grieving the loss of her best friend. The friend had passed away two months ago, and planning the wedding felt overwhelming for the woman. But then the bride-to-be, Erin O'Neil, received a special sign while wedding dress shopping and felt that it was from her best friend. She shared the incident on TikTok, where she goes by @promiscuitea, and the internet agreed with her. The post received over 1.7 million views.

Erin revealed that she had gotten engaged just a few days before she lost her best friend. "At times, the grief has felt insurmountable. Planning my wedding, knowing she won't be there, has been so hard." The hardest part for the woman had been wondering where her best friend was now. "Will I ever see her again? Is she at peace?" The woman found her wedding dress some time back. "I teared up because I was so happy and also because I felt the loss of her so much." However, as she went out of the boutique and came up to the front of the store, she saw something that seemed like a sign from her best friend.

There was a journal that read, "To live will be an awfully big adventure," by J.M. Barrie. It also happened to be the quote on the best friend's card during their graduation photos. "The ones who love us never truly leave us," Erin remarked. "I know it was her," the caption read. According to BMC Psychology, losing a friend can have a deep impact on a person, especially on an adolescent or a young adult. It can impact a person's school life, work life, relationships, and more. The research was conducted on a group of women between 18 and 31 years old. People in the comments noted that the quote was indeed an unusual one, and it was strange for it to be at a wedding dress store.

@lifewiththemoorefam wrote, "I have never seen or heard that quote before. For it to be at the exact place where you found your wedding dress is not a coincidence! Full body chills!" @jonesy27_ commented, "Hi Erin, my best friend of over 30 years passed away in April last year. I can relate to your grief and I really do understand what you are going through. It has been 18 months and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I also think of everything he's missing, but as time goes on, you do feel better. I still miss him as much and the pain is still there, but I can cope a bit better now and you will too. I hope you are okay."

@heyitschristinekay remarked, "I don't know what happens to us after we die, but I do believe that energy never dies. These small tokens are so special and meaningful for us still here." @spanishteacherbarbie shared, "I am so sorry. You should wear something special and incorporate it into your outfit to represent her. She will be right there with you. Maybe you can somehow have the quote worked into your dress? Like have it embroidered on the edge of your veil or something." In another video, Erin shared the special moments she had with her best friend before she passed away.
