Bride's non-verbal autistic brother stands up to officiate her wedding — no one was prepared for his endearing speech

Love knows no barriers and obstacles — it makes its way through in spite of them all. A dad named Paul Cella (@liberalpaul) shared a video of his autistic, non-verbal son, expressing his love for his sister, Tessa and his brother-in-law, Chris, on their wedding day. The young man was asked to officiate the wedding and had a unique and heartwarming speech prepared for the couple. Doing his best to deliver it, his words and expressions reveal that there’s nothing but love filled in that speech and it’s an admirable example of how love paves through no matter what.

Amid the support of family and friends, the man stood ahead of the couple and warmly welcomed all. “I’m Tess’ brother and I’m going to be Chris’ in-law. Welcome to our special day!” he began. Being transparent about his banter and love for his sister, the young man continued, “Tess is a good sister, except in high school, she was kind of a sourpuss.” His humorous and honest remarks left the groom surprised and the bride joining the guests' echoes of laughter. He sweetly mentioned how he knew all of his sister’s boyfriends, but “Chris was my favorite.”

“They are going to make an excellent husband and wife. They’re both smart, well-behaved and they laugh a lot," he continued, as the couple were visibly fighting back tears of laughter. Recalling every little thing that means much like their favorite food, grabbing a bite together and more, the man perfectly expressed that the couple meant a lot to him. He also got down to decoding what marriage and love meant to him. “Being married means you must remain in love forever,” the brother said. The simple statement was a much-needed reminder to the couple and the guests out there.

The brother’s views were followed by some rules he had regarding marriage. “Never quarrel — not even once,” he said, giving the bride and groom a good look to ensure they heard him loud and clear. The next rule was to “stay in shape” and without sparing a second, the couple immediately connected on their aspiration to remain fit. “Also, be happy the entire time,” the brother said, before getting the couple to exchange vows. His expressions, tone, and stature revealed that he had put a lot of effort into ensuring this was perfectly authentic. “Chris, you got first and do a good job,” he remarked.

After every few seconds, the guests erupted in laughter because the young man kept them so engaged and intrigued with his unique views. After the vows were done, he ever so amazingly said, “Alright, get the rings, let’s seal the deal!” This is the kind of speech we love — authentic, inspiring, a splash of laughter and just golden delivery. His conclusion was equally brilliant. “Shine on, everyone,” he exclaimed, raising his hands high in cheer. @jaziejoyce said, “The honesty, pureness, humor, and love are amazing!” @moodgoodness added, “The fact that he is nonverbal and is out there shredding it out loud, amazing!”
