Celebrity housekeeper reveals ingenious hack to save laundry drying time during cold months
Doing laundry is a boring chore that is still an important part of our everyday routine. However, hanging the laundry on the line, hoping for it to dry quickly during the winter or rainy months, is more frustrating. But this professional cleaner is giving out a quick tip to people who are tired of waiting for their clothes to dry up faster. Gemma Louise, (@diamondgemcleaning on TikTok), a celebrity housekeeper from England, gave out a free laundry hack to her TikTok viewers.
"To save drying time during the cold months give every wash an extra spin," Louise wrote over a brief video of a washing machine spinning the laundry. When the clothes got an extra spin in the machine, the excess water was removed. The simple yet useful hack won over the internet and people left thankful comments under Louise's video. @allee.ka wrote, "For those asking, there is an option for spin and drain that just spins and drains excess water without washing it." @lambchop026 wondered, "I am surprised by how many people don't do this. I have for years even in the summer months."
@melissarosexxxx mentioned, "I do this! I add a little fabric conditioner in with the clothes for the extra smell when I do the spin cycle." @tiiktookmaan revealed, "During wintertime, air humidity is lower and therefore, clothes dry faster. Drying clothes inside helps to keep the air moist." @freddiefacetime had a difference of opinion. They commented, "This has been tested. Will make almost no difference after a certain point as it’s rapidly diminishing returns. Better to use that time just putting them out to dry."
Louise also shared several other cleaning hacks on her TikTok page, which received many views and appreciation online. In one of her videos that received over 1 million views, Louise filmed herself at her client's house, cleaning their sofa set. "As professional cleaners, we vacuum our clients' sofas. This is a standard. If they have leather, we clean them. We have recently received a brand new Henry Hoover vacuum cleaner," Louise was heard in a voiceover in the video. Then she was seen deep cleaning the sofa along the slanted lines that covered the sofa cushions. "I didn't realize how controversial a Henry Hoover line was until we joined TikTok. I've been doing these for over 20 years and I've been doing these Henry Hoover lines for my clients," she referred to the lines formed on the cushions as a result of vacuuming.
