Sometimes a parent may understand how their child is feeling or what they need even before the kid says it out loud. Many of them also go out of their way to make their kid feel better. A dad did a similar thing for his daughter when he learned that his daughter was missing her family terribly. Coy Collins, who goes by @coyrcollins on TikTok, took to the platform to share the surprise he planned for his daughter.

The dad just knew that his daughter needed a giant hug so he drove six hours to cheer her up. "Drove six hours because dad had a feeling that his little girl just needed a hug," the text overlay of the video read. The woman entered the house and was greeted by two excited dogs while her dad hid in plain sight in the kitchen. The woman perhaps didn't notice him as she had her eyes on her excited dogs. She played with the dogs and looked at her husband who was recording the whole surprise. She seemingly got suspicious because of the recording and decided to turn around a little. At that moment, she noticed that her dad was standing behind her and was stunned to see him. She immediately went to her dad with tears in her eyes and the man gave her a big hug.

He continued to hug his crying daughter for quite some time to comfort her. The caption read, "When you get off the phone with your daughter and can tell she’s missing home, a father will do anything to bring home to her!" The dad told Newsweek, "I called her two nights before and she sounded down. I asked what was wrong and she said she missed her family." He went on, "Just that she really needed that hug. She was missing home and that one little gesture was everything to her." The video received more than 9.6 million views and over 1.3 million likes. People in comments expressed how much they loved the reunion.

@rward_5 wrote, "Didn’t realize I would be crying at 4:40 am this morning. That father-daughter relationship is so important and hits differently. I luckily have this type of father also! Enjoy it, girl." A user wrote commented, "Oh, she is your baby. Good dads are the best thing in the world. Almost burst into tears when my dad called me because he missed my voice the other day." @sarahg5325 remarked, "As someone who comes with so much trauma from my dad, I envy anyone who has a relationship like this with their dad. Crying because I want this so bad with my own dad! You’re so lucky!"

@ohkayfitness shared, "My dad drove from West Virginia to Michigan when I was 8 months pregnant just to check on me. Slept in my driveway because he didn’t want to wake me at night. I miss him." @jazminvalenzuela75 expressed, "Something my husband will do for my daughter. I had an absent father but seeing my daughter and husband’s bond and love really heals my inner child." @ciera_teague said, "My dad and I are so close, so seeing this makes me miss him so so much. He’s in Oregon and I’m in California so it’s about 8 hours apart. Nothing beats a hug from Dad."
