Dad learned about 3-yr-old son's autism diagnosis—he wrote him a tribute that's a heart-melting reassurance

Parents who accept the news that their children have certain health conditions or special needs hold a strength and love that is unique. It is a challenging truth to deal with, considering that it means their kids will face struggles, but it doesn’t alter the love the parents hold. American TV personality and model Jax Taylor recently learned that his 3-year-old son, Cruz, has been diagnosed with autism, per PEOPLE. While it was a life-changing diagnosis for him and Brittany Cartwright, his ex with whom he share Cruz, he shared a heartwarming message on Instagram (@mrjaxtaylor) to prove that his love and dream for his son will remain the same.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Cartwright revealed that her son was diagnosed with autism. Sharing how the news unfolded, the mom said, “He crawled early, he walked early. Then, as he got closer to 2, we started noticing that he was regressing in his speech. He stopped talking almost completely." She mentioned that she thought it might be autism that caused the changes, but getting the diagnosis made things more real. "I've never heard him say, 'I love you,' but he is so loving and he shows me he loves me every single day," Cartwright remarked. The dad took to Instagram and shared a beautiful message for his son and it’s a breathtaking reassurance from a father to his son.

Sharing glimpses of himself with Cruz, the man can be seen caressing and playing with his son while the 3-year-old expresses himself with smiles, giggles, hugs and more. Posting a short yet priceless message, the dad wrote, “My precious, beautiful boy. I’m so proud to be your father.” He acknowledged that the diagnosis might bring “challenges along the way,” but he assured his son that he would always have his back. “I’ll always be your biggest supporter and cheerleader,” Taylor remarked. Having understood what the diagnosis means to fellow families, he shared collective support.

He wrote, “I will make sure that you and other families on similar journeys affected by autism know that the sky is the limit even though life may look a little different.” Cartwright mentioned that no matter the diagnosis, her love for her son remains the same. "I feel like I was meant to be his mom. He is my better half. He is my little partner in crime. He is everything to me, and even though he can't talk, I know everything that he wants and needs. We're just so synced, it's incredible,” she said. Also, the mom confidently noted that though life has to be different, it doesn’t have to be limited or any less meaningful than other families.

"Yes, it might be challenging at times, but I couldn't imagine my life being different.” She also shared a hopeful message for fellow parents who have kids with autism. She said, "It can be sad because you want them to live life to the fullest and he does, just in a different way. What I really want people to understand about autism is he sees the world so much more vibrant and amazing than any of us ever will. It doesn't mean that he's not going to be the smartest in his class. It doesn't mean he is not going to work for NASA one day. There aren't any limitations to what he can do.”
