Having any kind of medical procedure or routine check-up that requires preparation from the patient's side can be stressful. It was just another day for a mom from Des Moines, Iowa who was getting ready for her colonoscopy appointment when something truly hilarious happened. Mom Brandi Lister got to witness how a kid's honesty can end up causing quite an embarrassment to the adult. In a doorbell camera footage shared to KCCI by Lister herself, her young daughter was caught spilling some beans to her friends about her mom's colonoscopy.

Two little boys knocked on the door of Lister's home which was answered by her young daughter. The kids had shown up to ask if the girl was ready to go out and play with them or not. Instead of joining the boys, the little girl had some serious concerns about her mom that she felt obliged to share with the neighborhood boys. Lister's daughter told the boys that her mom is at home but "she is going to poop like crazy" referring to her following colonoscopy appointment. The little boys who understood nothing about the medical examination, started giggling, finding humor in the whole bowel cleansing routine of Lister.

But the little girl was having none of it and she immediately scolded the boys for laughing. “Stop. It’s not funny,” she announced. She also informed the neighboring kids that her mom had to undergo surgery after her colonoscopy is over. “It’s not funny at all,” she repeated herself. But her young friends couldn't care less about the medical jargon and just wanted her to come out of the house and play with them. One boy wondered if her mom had "already started" whereas another one nonchalantly asked "if she was going to come out to play or not."

Lister's daughter answered, "She’s started already. Oh, it’s bad.” The little boys who still couldn't grasp the seriousness of the situation, walked off the porch of Lister's home while giggling. According to the Cleveland Clinic, patients who are about to undergo a colonoscopy often take oral laxatives to clear out their bowels before the examination. The process of purging your bowels can be very dehydrating, so it’s important to take osmotic laxatives with extra fluids and electrolytes. The doorbell footage was then shared on the official Facebook page of KCCI where many people shared their dreaded experience with colonoscopy and the comment section was equally hilarious as the video itself.

Raelyne Reeves wrote, "This is too funny. It's so true. Been through it so many times myself. That's the best pre-colonoscopy video I've ever seen. They should use that for commercials. God bless this mom for keeping a sense of humor." Sally Jacobsen Ortgies shared, "I’ve had over 30 colonoscopies so I can relate." Kay DowAww commented, "Wow, she's gonna stay in and take care of momma." Patty Moore joked, "Hello? America's Funniest Videos? We have a winner." Wendy Lyne added, "The prep is the worst part. Having a sense of humor about it helps."
