Doorbell camera captures 'adorable' octogenarian going door to door inviting neighbors to his unique party

When a person gets old, they often long for the company of people they are comfortable with. However, not everyone is lucky to have their family or friends around in their old age. In such cases, elderly people mostly try to make connections with their neighbors. A woman named Michelle Hernandez, who goes by @meeesher on TikTok, posted some videos to share a similar story of her kind and jolly neighbor, Doug. Despite his old age, the 85-year-old gentleman from Philadelphia promised to throw the greatest party on the block. To make it even better, he went door-to-door, giving his neighbors handwritten invitation cards to come join him at his "celebration of winter" party.

Hernandez posted a series of videos documenting everything from receiving the invitation to visiting Doug and letting him know her decision to attend his party. In the first video, she held a paper with a handwritten note on it and spoke to the camera. "I'm just sitting on the couch and I hear our doorbell ring," Hernandez said. "I open the door and it is our 85-year-old neighbor, who is such a sweetheart. He's walking over with his cane." The young woman initially had no clue about Doug showing up at their porch out of the blue, but she noticed how he was carrying some papers with him.

"He gives me this little invitation that literally looks like he used some sort of pen to make copies of these and gave them out to all of our neighbors," Hernandez said while showing the note to the camera. "And it says, 'A Celebration of Winter. February 15th, 4 p.m. Until the cops arrive. He's literally 85." She giggled while reading through the note and mentioned how Doug asked them to not worry about food and drinks because he would provide them anyway. Doug had jotted down his email and phone number under the note, possibly hoping people would join him in the fun celebration.

Hernandez thought that was the sweetest thing ever, as she shared a quick update on her first clip. In the new video, she showed the moment Doug arrived at her doorstep, all captured by her doorbell camera. In the third video, Hernandez is seen visiting Doug's home to let him know that she and her husband will join him at the party. She turned the camera at Doug for a few seconds as he waved at it and said, "Hi." The comments section appreciated how Doug was still approaching people and making new friends at his age and people showed interest in joining the party as well.
