There are parking spaces in communities where a person can legally own a spot to keep their vehicle. However, they often have to deal with entitled folks who occupy their deeded parking spaces without permission. A person, u/hbHPBbjvFK9w5D, took to Reddit to share an incident when an entitled couple decided to steal the reserved parking space of an elderly lady. Everything that followed after it was nothing short of hilarious. The Reddit user revealed how they worked at a place that had a deeded parking garage and each space was owned by residents of the building.

The building had 300 units but they only had 75 parking spots. Those who didn't have their parking spots reserved had to rely on getting a permit to park their car on the street or in a parking garage nearby. An old lady, who was lovingly called granny by the residents of the complex, owned a Mini-Cooper and used to park her ride in her designated space. But things took an ugly turn when a couple arrived to rent an apartment at the complex and stole the granny's parking spot. "When granny complained, the renters would just say they were entitled because there were so many empty parking places, so Granny could park somewhere else," the post read.

One day, the old lady had enough of the couple's actions. "She pulled her car in front of the two renter's car and parked bumper to bumper. Put a note on their car saying, 'Parking in this space is $150 a day. Please leave a check with the concierge.' So, the two renters showed up at my desk, complaining about their car being blocked off and actually expected me to tow granny's car away!" read the post. The Reddit user who was working at the building explained what deeded parking meant. They reminded the couple that they couldn't do anything since the granny legally owned the parking space.

"I called Granny. They begged her to move her car. Granny told them it would be $150 bucks and they could leave the check with the concierge. Then she told them it would be an extra $50 for waking her up in the morning cause they claimed an emergency. Then they asked her how long before she left the garage," the Reddit user recalled. On that note, the old lady gave the couple a fitting reply and told them that she would move from the spot when she was ready and demanded they pay the $200 in cash. "I'm walking my dog and I'll move my car when I have your rental fee in hand," the grandma had replied to the couple. The trick seemed to work as the renters never parked in the old woman's spot and the woman received her cash payment too.

People on the internet appreciated the old lady for the fitting lesson she taught them. u/tuberosalamb wrote, "Any place I've ever rented at contracted with a local tow company to prevent this exact kind of thing from happening." u/Educational_Ebb7175 noted, "Some people think this is being a Karen or whatnot. Nope. This is making people actually responsible for their own deeds. They do it because so many people let others walk all over them. If their parking is problematic enough that a tow company will tow them without charging the person calling it in, then they deserve to get towed. It's really that simple." u/Kalkaline joked, "Granny gave them a hell of a deal compared to what a towing company would have."
