Empathy is the biggest superpower that someone could have in any situation. A grandmom of eight could attest to that after her encounter with a cop, after hitting a parked vehicle. The woman, Christy Henley, was having a hard time managing everything when she hit a parked car. An already overwhelmed Henley was in tears after the incident. However, when a cop came in to check what had happened, he offered the grandmom empathy instead of judgment and changed everything, per Local 12 News.

As the officer, Chad Martin, came across the crying woman, he tried to understand her situation better and asked her questions. "She was supposed to have some driving glasses. But she didn't have health insurance at the time because even though she had a college degree, she wasn't working as she was taking care of all these kids," Martin explained. "She told me she was having some self-esteem problems; everything was overwhelming to her." The woman's grandkids were two months to eight years old and she had been taking care of seven of them. "I think it was one of those god moments when you were supposed to cross paths," Martin went on.

The officer was able to get help for the grandmom and get glasses sponsored for her. A medical institution called Garbic Eye Care pitched in to support the woman. Turner Family Dentistry decided to help as well because the grandmom's teeth had been falling out and she hadn't been able to get treatment for the same. "We just wanted to make sure that she gets that confidence back," Dr. Bryan Turner, from the Turner Family Dentistry, expressed. "We want to give her, her smile back." Henley continued, "It has been a year since I haven't smiled, I have always been hiding it. I have to keep going, you know. I can't stop because the teeth are falling out." The police and fire departments from Wilder chipped in as well and decided to send money to cover everything.

"I instantly started tearing up because I didn't want a handout. We have everything. We have a family, we have love," Henley shared. "We have each other. As for the community response, I just want to say thank you," the grandmom said as she wiped her tears. "No matter how bad you think, how tough you think your life is at the moment, there's somebody out there who is dealing with more than you," the officer expressed. "This was my eye opener." Henley gave the officer a big hug for all the help she received after his intervention. People appreciated the man for his empathy in the comments section of the video.

I'm going through the most trying time of my life and finally asked for help. I found myself saying the same thing, by reassuring the person that I would pay them back. I will honor that. This woman wants to hold onto her dignity, especially for those children. God bless her and God bless that wonderful cop." @billm1601 commented, "Wow, a true professional police officer, we need a whole police department staffed with his kind." Another user remarked, "Wow! What a great officer! We need more like him nowadays!"
