Women have been advocating against gender bias when it comes to medical care. The discrimination is so visible that even men are starting to understand how insane it is. A veteran and husband, Justin, who goes by @heyyuguy on TikTok, expressed his anger about the system after witnessing his wife’s virtual appointment with a cisgender female doctor. In the clip dated August 18, 2026, he recalled his spouse speaking with a female medical professional about her perimenopause. However, the woman received attention and advice only after one act, and it left the man furious. The story was later reported by The Daily Dot, and many women shared their frustrations.

Justin mentioned that his wife had a virtual appointment to discuss her perimenopausal concerns. He emphasized that the entire discussion solely revolved around her, her body, and her needs. However, the doctor validated her concerns only when the man walked in. “It took her husband going to her appointment for menopause before her doctor could take her symptoms seriously and give her appropriate treatment,” he lamented. He explained that several women have been taking their partners to such visits because they’re easily dismissed, and after experiencing the reality firsthand, he couldn’t help but agree with them. “For my wife to get treatment for the things going on with her body, I have to be there; I have to make it my problem,” he said.

“It’s incredibly f****d that we need men to solve women’s problems,” he added. He noted how a male-centric society has made healthcare a dilemma for females. Being dismissive of their pain and discomfort until a man intervenes, even after knowing they go through so many bodily changes, is outrageous. The man noted how even issues like endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and so on, that have nothing to do with a partner, require their presence and opinion. Also, Justin’s point is backed by data. According to Psychology Today, Judith Leitich, a nurse practitioner and medical director of a healthcare company, shared, “The longstanding and misguided belief that women are excessively emotional is one reason why the healthcare industry has a record of invalidating and disregarding women's concerns even today.”

A survey of 900 women in the 25 to 34 age group revealed that 93% of females felt dismissed by healthcare providers. 40% said they had to see multiple professionals before they received a diagnosis. Most of them noted that they were given prescriptions without a complete analysis of their symptoms. Several women shared their experiences with biased healthcare providers. Others called out the doctor’s behavior. @barrettcbrown wrote, “It’s why many of us quit going. No one listens.” @rya_joy added, “They like to say, ‘It’s in your head’ instead of focusing on what is actually going on. Thank you for speaking up.”
