Influencer going through a miscarriage decided to post her journey online—she had a special reason behind it

Trigger Warning: This article consists of themes of pregnancy loss that could be distressing for some readers.
Going through a pregnancy loss can be a hard thing for a woman. She might also need all the support she can get from the people around her. However, it might not be the easiest thing to share for a person. An influencer had been through multiple miscarriages and smiled through her pain for the internet. However, this time around, she decided to share the details of her miscarriage with her followers. Her reason was simple: to normalize talking about the loss of a baby and seeking support. The creator, Jeenie Kwon, who goes by @jeenie.weenie on Instagram, shared her grief through a series of posts on the platform.

"Can we normalize talking about miscarriages? I'll go first. I've been pregnant 5 times and have one baby. Also, I'm currently at the doctor's office waiting for tests because they think I'm having another miscarriage," Jeenie shared through the post. "It's so hard being a woman." She expressed that what was supposed to be a "joyous" doctor's visit resulted in bad news for her. "Sorry, we took five pregnancy tests and only one came back positive. Seems to be early stages of miscarriage," the doctors explained. Jeenie remarked that an "agonizing waiting game for results" followed such news and she would have to hold onto hope that the doctor was wrong.

Further tests signaled an early miscarriage or a possible ectopic pregnancy for Jeenie. "Now it's just a waiting game of inevitable loss. I hope it happens sooner rather than later because it is unbearable." She also experienced a vulnerable moment with a female nurse as both of them shared stories of their respective pregnancy loss. "She felt my pain and I felt hers. I hope me sharing my grief helps those going through the same to not feel alone." Jeenie also asked for a D&C (Dilation and Curettage) after she went to see another doctor. "He said to wait two weeks for a scan, even though they are 99 percent sure that it is not a viable pregnancy. They want it to be 100 percent. Should I believe in miracles?"

In a video, Jeenie shared that she took pain meds on the second day of her first miscarriage and went to work. "I didn't want to let my team and brand down." She hadn't told her friends or family about what she was going through. "I suffered through it... Alone." The caption read, "To all the women who suffered alone… I see you. This was me last year. I don’t feel like going through this alone this time. Thank you for being here." In another post, Jeenie thanked everyone who shared their miscarriage story with her, even though it might not have been easy for those people. "You were a part of my healing and for that, I am forever grateful." The woman was also glad that she took time to share her grief, instead of holding everything in.

"The reason why I decided to share this online was because when I first shared about my miscarriage and my losses to my closest friends, who I call my sisters, they came out to me and said, 'I've had a miscarriage too.' And I'm like, 'Excuse me, you didn’t tell me!'" Jeenie told TODAY.com. "It's not my normal type of content because I'm always like, 'Oh, spread joy and laughter and let's just giggle together.' But life's not always like that." People showed their support for Jeenie in the comments section. @woahzie wrote, "This is a very sad thing to go through. Thank you for sharing with us." @hannatchr commented, "Thank you for all your raw transparency. So sorry for your loss and sending all the love your way."
