We’ve often heard the saying that a little goes a long way. Simple and small efforts from our end contribute and add to a larger chain of goodness that can have a priceless impact. A Walmart store janitor, Bill Moczulewski, got a taste of this wonderful impact through the generosity of a woman named Christy Conrad, per CBS News. When the woman learned that Moczulewski had to walk 5 miles in each direction every day, she was determined to do something for him. Her simple request yielded the most humane fruit of kindness from thousands.

Moczulewski has no complaints about walking to work. His love for working hard pushes him to take the tedious route every day. Conrad chanced upon the janitor one day while he was walking to the store. She offered him a lift in her car and the duo struck up a conversation. The woman learned that Moczulewski was legally blind and also discovered the long, challenging way he used to get to work. Moved by his determination, she offered to drive him to work as much and as often as possible. Unfortunately, Conrad couldn’t always be there to drive him. Considering the weather and the trail, she refused to let Moczulewski figure his way to work.

She created a Facebook page called “Mr. Bill’s Village” in hopes that people would volunteer their time to kindly help the janitor. The page now has thousands of people who have heard of Moczulewski’s conviction to work and are ever ready to support and encourage him. The page had several posts highlighting the working hours of the man so people can get an idea. Many are on the lookout while driving in case they spot him to offer a ride. One of the posts captured the janitor in his vest, waiving moments before pickup from a kind motorist.

Another post featured the janitor with another kind stranger committed to getting back to picking him up during the evenings. “Such a big part of Mr. Bill’s village is helping Bill and others in need! Love makes the world go around!” the caption of the post read. People were thrilled to see the community step up, each with their little contribution, making it a complete gesture for the janitor. "And within days it exploded," one of the group members said. Another added, "Now, it's like everyone is competing to give Mr. Bill a ride.” Conrad remarked, "Just like, 'Where's Waldo,' but where's Mr. Bill…It's nice to see.”

Moczulewski is convinced of the kindness people have to share. He almost had zero trouble getting to work every day, as someone or the other always steps up. "There's a lot of good people in this world, all over the place, you know," he said. As for Conrad, she got repaid for her kindness too. A local dealer, Chris Puckett, offered to give the janitor a car to make his life simpler but since he can’t drive, he knew just who the recipient of the gift should be. He handed the keys to Conrad as a memorable act of gratitude.
