Simple gestures like allergy checks and casual plans can feel thoughtful at first, but they often come with a catch. TikTok user Khadija, who also goes by @earth2khadija, shared a post on June 15, 2026, explaining how she agreed to meet a man who initially seemed caring. He asked about her food allergies before choosing a spot with several restaurant options, which made her feel he was paying attention to her comfort. But what followed soon had her walking away instead.

Khadija agreed to meet the man, and when he asked about her allergies, she was impressed. He chose a location that seemed safe and had several restaurants, leading her to believe that he had planned well for their date. When they met, he mentioned he had checked her profile and noticed her large following online. He then asked a question that changed the mood right away — “What restaurant are we going to call so they can give us a free meal?” She replied immediately, “What?” to make sure she understood him correctly. He repeated his point, suggesting that as an influencer, she should be able to get free food because of her online presence. She was instantly disappointed at the fact that he hadn't even picked a place. The woman blocked him soon after.

First dates can be exciting, but sadly, they do not always go as planned. In another incident, a woman shared how she tried dating again after getting out of a long relationship, only to face a disheartening experience. She joined an app and quickly received many matches, making her feel both excited and overwhelmed. Within days of texting, one man asked her out. He offered to pick her up, saying he was a “true gentleman,” but she chose to meet him at the restaurant instead. At the diner, he had already ordered drinks before she arrived. They talked for a while, and he spoke about wanting a serious relationship, which she hoped might be genuine.

As the evening continued, he ordered more items for himself while she kept her order simple. Later, he suddenly said he needed to use the restroom and joked about drinking too much. He did not return after that. When the bill arrived, she was left alone and felt shocked and embarrassed. A kind manager stepped in after hearing her story and helped adjust the bill so she only paid for her meal. She later shared that she would never go on another first date via a dating app.
