Little boy asked if he could kiss boys after seeing his older brother do it — his dad’s ‘perfect parenting’ response is winning hearts
Out of curiosity, children ask the most unexpected questions without even realizing the entire context of it. How parents choose to respond can have a strong impact. A Reddit user who goes by u/ItC*msAtNoon overheard a conversation between a dad and his little son and was impressed by the man's parenting. When the kid asked if he could kiss boys after seeing his older brother do it, the parent responded calmly. In the post shared on May 21, 2026, it was revealed how the neutral and insightful conversation led to a wholesome conclusion.
After noticing two men kissing at a park, the little one asked if he could kiss males, too. The dad immediately responded that he could when he got old enough. The child then revealed that he had witnessed his older brother kissing someone. After inquiring whether the boy had witnessed his sibling do so in person, and getting a positive response, he decided not to freak out or act confused. He simply noted, "Your brother is 7 years older than you, so the two of you are not quite the same age, but I hear you, he's still a kid, even though he likes to believe he's not." He then shared an important message. He pointed out that the tiny tot was still young, and if he ever felt like showing affection to men at a later stage, they could have a conversation about it. However, for the time being, he was not supposed to do anything like that.
The kid then revealed that he saw him kissing "Sam," to which his dad enthusiastically answered, "Wow. Okay. Well, at least your brother has good taste. Sam is not a bad-looking young man. I like him." The wholesome interaction left the stranger stunned. Instead of getting worked up or uncomfortable, the parent treated it like every other scenario and carefully added his input about it. u/littlebottles wrote, "What a sweet, lovely way for the dad to handle it." u/Consesualluvbug added, "This is excellent parenting. Do not make a huge deal about it. These talks can be simple." u/UpstairsError8779 remarked, "Sometimes the smallest moments mean the most, and dads have a special way of proving that every single day."
The heartwarming interaction between the father-son duo reminds us of Cyrus Veyssi. The content creator's dad has always shown support for his son, despite negative comments. In one of his videos, the father was asked what his favorite part of being gay was. When asked the witty question, the man had an interesting take. He immediately quipped, "Well, it keeps a lot of people away. I generally don't like them anyway." Supportive parents go a long way, and their approach and response can boost their child's confidence, be it in the toddler stage or even later in adulthood.
