People from the LGBTQ+ community still have a hard time getting accepted in some parts of society. There are still countless prejudices against them as society questions their lifestyle and identities and discriminates against them. Content creator and brand consultant Cyrus Veyssi, who goes by @cyrusveyssi on Instagram, is no stranger to facing criticism from the public in real life and online. However, Veyssi, who identifies as gay, has a supportive dad by his side who has a great sense of humor.

In a popular Instagram video that received over nine million views, Veyssi turned to his dad and asked him, "What is your favorite thing about the fact that I am gay?" Veyssi's dad was speaking from behind the camera. "Can you believe it?" His dad, who is lovingly known as Baba to Veyssi's followers, dropped the most savage reply one could think of. "Well, it keeps a lot of people away. I generally don't like people anyway," Veyssi's dad replied. "Yeah, I know," Veyssi quipped as the video cut off abruptly.

A lot of people applauded the dad's response in the comments. @mianmac32 wrote, "To add to what he said, it keeps the wrong people away and attracts the right people." @kimiaxlife shared, "I love his laugh because it's just like every Persian dad I know who does not generally like people, they just bear it and try not to upset anyone." @theanjalivala remarked, "Now I understand where your sassy humor comes from." @jesssssmesss joked, "Posting this and not linking the gloss or eyelashes is diabolical. You knew what you were doing." @salvation1972 added, "Literally, I love being who I am because all the bad people hate being around me. Like yes please run away from me I don’t want you here."

Every person deserves to have a dad like Veyssi's. In a similar story, a kid garnered the support of his friends after speaking in favor of homosexuality in school. A young boy named Daniel was in 5th grade when a homophobic substitute teacher told the boy to feel bad for having gay dads. However, his classmates quickly came to his defense. The substitute teacher had asked the fifth graders to share what they were thankful for and the students started answering one by one. “I’m thankful that I’m finally going to be adopted by my two dads,” Daniel answered when his turn came.

“Why on earth would you be happy about that?” the teacher scolded him and started giving her controversial opinions on how homosexuality was sinful. Daniel's classmates weren't having any of it and three of the girls asked the substitute teacher to stop. When the teacher continued rambling, the three students walked out of the classroom to inform the principal. Soon after, the substitute teacher was escorted out of the school as the authorities informed one of Daniel's fathers, Louis van Amstel. The substitute teacher who had obtained the job through staffing company Kelly Services, was ultimately fired.
