Little girl worn out from cancer treatment saw her baby sister sick with the flu — and her response left their mom in tears
Cancer treatment is painful. But for children, the suffering is even more unimaginable. However, despite the pain, a little girl did not shy away from cheering her sister when she was down with the flu. TikTok user and mother Michelle (@loaves.with.vogds) shared an adorable video of her daughter, who had been worn out from cancer treatment, making hilarious and heartfelt reactions when she saw her sister sick. Sharing the video on January 14, 2026, Michelle revealed that she was left emotional by the wholesome scene unfolding in front of her.

Michelle, a mom of three, watched an adorable interaction between her two daughters that has now moved internet users to tears. For context, Michelle's elder daughter, Layla, has been fighting cancer and has been undergoing aggressive treatments, which have worn her out. Despite multiple treatments and hospital visits, when the little girl noticed her sister was down with the flu, she knew she had to cheer her up. In the video shared by the mother, the big sister can be seen playing with a pillow, imitating a fight with it, as her sister and the mother watch her antics. Her younger sister, Lettie, who watches this, giggles at her little show, clearly entertained.
The mother who posted the video wrote, "The best big sister. Fighting her own battles but worried about her younger sister." A 2016 study published in PubMed examined how a positive outlook can act as a stable disposition among cancer patients. The study found that patients with higher levels of positivity tended to have fewer symptoms of anxiety and despondency. "POS (positivity) may act as a basic disposition that sustains patients' efforts to deal efficaciously with severe illness, by complying with medical treatment and using cognitive strategies that enable individuals to cope with concurrent and prospective challenges of illness," the study noted.
Although the little girl has been fighting her own battle, she deeply cares for her sibling, and her love and strength were captured in the video. Michelle's video brought viewers to tears. @Emma Walter mentioned, "She's doing the same thing she does for her. So cute." @christiewillms expressed, "Oh, the little tear on Lettie's face! Sweet Layla is always aware of others." @Lizzy remarked, "Sweet baby. I will be praying for both your babies, ma'am."
Battling cancer themselves, some patients still put others' needs before their own. In another story, dad of two, Greg Griffith, was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and was given only weeks to live. Despite hearing devastating news, Greg had only one question for his doctor: what he and his wife could do to help others. That single selfless question had a huge impact. It led to the creation of the Greg and Cathy Griffith Family Foundation, a group that supports pancreatic cancer patients and funds research.
