Love bombing at the start of a relationship can make it seem like you're living the dream, and that your partner is your soulmate. However, for a TikTok creator who goes by Sydney, what began as a whirlwind romance at 19 quickly became much more complicated than she ever expected. On July 20, 2026, she shared the story on her page, @sydneysimcho, recalling how a man she had known since middle school made it look like she had found the one, only for him to break up with her because they were "moving too fast." Later, one look at his TikTok helped her understand there was more to the situation.

Sydney explained that she had known the man since middle school, but they had never been close. When he came back into her life around her 19th birthday, she decided to give him a chance despite his questionable reputation. Within a week, things were already moving fast. He got her signature tattooed huge across his thigh, flew home to see her, spent time with her family, and then asked her to come back to New York with him. But after about two weeks in New York, he suddenly asked if they had "moved too fast," and they broke up. But once the woman got home, she checked his TikTok, and his excuse for the breakup started to fall apart. He was still hung up on his ex, and she soon found out she wasn’t the only woman he had been talking to.

When she first checked his TikTok after their breakup, she realized he had blocked her. Using her other account, she saw posts that appeared to be about his ex. When she confronted him, he denied it, but another post made the truth harder to ignore. But that wasn't the end of it. Another woman soon messaged her, saying the same man was involved with her while Sydney was dating him. Then a second woman came forward with a similar story, saying she had even been planning to fly to New York to see him. The final shock came when she checked his social media and saw that he and his ex were back together in New York. His ex was wearing a ring and sleeping in the same bed.

The comments were full of shock and disbelief. @realbossvee wrote, "Never give them the benefit of the doubt." @k1ng.kota remarked, "Name tattooed on him and everything and he was still playing with multiple women." A new relationship can become complicated when an ex is still in the picture. In another dating horror, a woman went on a first date with a man who revealed that his ex-girlfriend had died just three months after they broke up. She was already uneasy about how quickly he had started dating again, but what he later shared about another ex raised an even bigger red flag. He had been checking on her for more than seven years, but she refused to get back with him. When the woman joked, "Go get your wife," he admitted, "I tried," leaving her speechless but certain that there would not be a second meeting.
